February 28, 200620 yr mhm, id rather prefer some product that wont need any patches. i dont like this beta releases. nothing bad against GE 2006, but bringing all these patches right after the release looks not very promising to me as a customer. its a cheap way to use the customers for bug report but is it the best for the company image ? can you call that "service" ? might be my german genes or maybe im just too picky ;)regards, tom.
February 28, 200620 yr "(...) might be my german genes or maybe im just too picky (...)"I'm sure it's the genes (grin)!Your neighbour to the West,Jaap Verduijn.
February 28, 200620 yr Look for update version 1.01 on our website for the autogen. It should fix thisPeter
February 28, 200620 yr Hi there,We've got 50 beta testers who managed to miss this. Fortunately Anthony and I have found the issues. We would really welcome you helping us to test thisPlease contact us on [email protected] on msn messenger and we can make sure it's all fixed for you.Sorry for any frustrations this may have caused you. By the time you read this there should be a new update on our site. V1.01 of the autogen package. We hope this fixes things for you.
February 28, 200620 yr It would have been nice if the readme with 1.01 had just told us which files we needed to copy to fix the problem with the first update, instead of having us do everything over again. I guess it was only those two you mentioned. I ended up doing it all over just to be on the safe side.

If anyone wants to release a "beta" product, they release it and stand back--weeks. months--sometimes years, and sometimes they altogether disappear. They don't work nearly 24x7 watching the community and moving heaven and earth to get a product "perfect". I think anyone who has watched the forums over the past week would view your comment as being quite unfair.-John
March 1, 200620 yr Well, I know this is not new news but,***INCREDIBLE***. I installed yesterday and updated today. Is it just me, or does the sim seem to run even smoother now as well? You guys did a simply fantastic job!! What do you have up your sleeves next!!!??? Thanks.
March 1, 200620 yr Peter,Can you make it clear on your website when one downloads the main GE product whether the download includes the latest patches or whether updates need to be applied after downloading the main product.Specially so with lots of updates recently, it will help us who have not bought yet and want to hold on a few days to get the wrinkles ironed out, and install once only. Thanks so muchGreg Greg Clark
March 1, 200620 yr I'm also confused about the update process. I downloaded, purchased and installed the Ground Environment program on Feb 28. I can't figure out whether I need to install the recently released V1.01 Autogen update or not. Please advise. Thanks.
March 1, 200620 yr the problem with that is if the user did not install the first verison it would have totally confused themthe autogen update is there as a temporay fix to give people as much new information as we can to give the best up to date service that we can.So please apply a little patience and common sense here and if you have to do everything again we apologise in advance. The next update for autogen will assume the user has not used this package before and that anyone who has used it again will think soemthing along the lines...."hey, I only made these folders a couple of days ago? so it's done. What next.. Darn annoying ..... now what do I do next. yep, same as before, yeah those files go in there just like last time. A breeze. Next time I'll be abble to do this from memory..... but just in case if there is a next time I'll read the text and make sure there is no curve ball.....I wonder how they are getting on with patching Europe...."At what point did you get confused? And did the new update work? If not was it because of our text. If yes, then we need to change it and fast!!!! If that is the case we would really appreicate you helping us beta test the new text for ease of use and fast application...... Last thing we want is confused customers...As for me... I'm totally confused LOL
March 1, 200620 yr I guess I must be just difficult to impress or perhaps I have been blown away with what VOZ1.1 promises but I can't for the life of me get myself into a lather over GE. It is good but I have kinda got use to improved textures with VOZ and BEV US_Canada summer. Anyway the main point of this post is that installing GE (ie rolling back to defaults as per instructions) undid a fix I had installed called terrainmask_patch which removed the lines that appear in glacier areas - see attachment. As the fix involves installing 63 files into the WorldScenerytexture folder could there be any unintended consquences for GE? Unfortunatly I don't really understand what this fix acually does as the readme is in German and I can't remember where I got the file from - it is not in the AVSIM library.Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
March 1, 200620 yr I add my voice to the Songs of Praise. Well done, and looking good! Right now I've temporarily reinstalled my old GeForce 4TI4400 on account of the power supply being on the brink of conking out and having become too shaky too supply my regular GeForce 6800, but already the looks of GE are very good, and I'm looking forward to seeing it all with the 6800 back in place!Due to lousy eyes I am, sadly, among those who simply can't notice small differences in texture quality. In order for me to perceive a relatively tiny improvement, the ACTUAL improvement must really be BIG, in other words: I never really reach the "WOW" factor. However, GE shows me a clearly visible improvement, which simply means that it must be spectacular to the better-eyed among us. Keep up the good work, guys!Jaap Verduijn.
