PSS 777 Question

Featured Replies

So I bought the PSS 777, and I'm having some trouble. I know this is most likely a dumb question to the really experienced simmers, but here goes:I can't get the engines to start. The message pops up saying "Press Ctrl+E to start engines" and I do, but nothing happens. I think the problem here is that I'm not used to the level of realism provided by these kinds of add-ons. What do I have to do? Is it something with fuel flow? Thanks!

Please don't take this the wrong way and I'm not trying to be funny but ...I think someone needs to set aside a few hours in his busy schedule to read the 5 (yes five) manuals. Finish off by reading and going through the tutorial flight.Only having read all these and if you still have a problem should you post the precise problem you are having on the PSS forum. It's a great addon and will give you many hours of pleasure but I'm afraid you have to earn it by putting the leg work in to learn how it works. The manuals are well done and should themselves give you a good few hours of enjoyable and interesting bedtime reading.Best of luck with your new toy,Ian

I'm afraid you really do need to follow procedure on these babies. It's not like the default planes in any shape or form other than being a 777. Best bet is to print out the checklist from the manual, and then start learning where all the knobs and dials are.

I won't dive into the minute details of the complex systems of the aircraft, but if you really want to do a quick start, be sure to check the following:1. Make sure you're connected to the external power source (accessible through the "misc" button on the small panel above the windscreen)... OR...2. Make sure you have started the APU (located on the overhead panel)3. Make sure the fuel knobs at the base of the throttle quadrant are in the "ON" position.THEN hit "Control + E"... that should get you going...However, as others have said, it would benefit you greatly to read about the systems and to follow the procedures - you'd be amazed at how easy it becomes once you know the sequences and how much more enjoyable and immersive it can be!Hope this helps! Happy landings,Alex

Just adding another voice to the 'reading is essential' theme. Even when you start the engines then what? :) If you try to handle say the a/p like default you'll get frustrated really fast. You bit of a fair chunk of reality - take time, read and as suggested the tutorial flight is very helpful.See you in the skies over the Pacific :)regards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256

I do wonder sometimes why people by aircraft with complex systems then complain that Ctrl-E won't start the engines?

Alright, thanks guys. I will read the manuals of course, I'm just the kind of person who always jumps into a task and tries to "decipher" it before reading the manuals. ;)This kind of realism is what I'm looking for, so I'm sure this will be a great add-on and learning experience. Just to mention, I've had the PSS A320 since FS2002, and I deciphered that one pretty quick. But this one's harder, challenge is good.

Dear unsigned,Download the tutorial flight from the PSS site and all will be revealed as you follow the instructions.I can honestly say that this aircraft with 'TrackIR4' is the most immersive and best internal visuals of all. Please take the trouble to sign your post's so that we know who we are helping?Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/

As a lover of both types, your jest does remind me :)The T7 is the most automated Boeing to date -I have a piece of video with a UAL 772 Captain explaining the overhead - he kept repeating 'we leave that on auto' and 'we never use that' :)How are the Boeing officianados taking all this automation? - the 787, 747-8 and 737NG successor can only get 'worse'regards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256
