I really hope 'Dynamic Weather' translates to 'Real World Weather updates'

On the DTG FSW forum Cryss said this to a similar query:

Right now current dev focus is on dynamic weather, so weather that adapts whilst you're flying. A lot of our development focus is laying foundations to later build upon, so trueSKY -> Dynamic Weather -> then we can look at what we would need to do to implement RL weather.

Give people power to really test their personality.

If not, then I would expect the same folks who've published the current Blender to FSX/P3D toolset will fill this need.

For that to happen, would DTG need to publish the X file format changes they have made?

Not necessarily, although it would be helpful. After all, MS never published any explanation of their .x file format, yet it has been very well deconstructed by Arno for his marvelous ModelConverterX program years ago.

Thank you for the updates.  I am looking forward to see where this sim goes!

I thought they published it here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526973.aspx

But I'm not surprised if it was reverse-engineered, given what's been accomplished with BGL formats (including CVX files).

Yes, the ESP documentation gave the basic outline, but that's like listing all 26 letters of the English alphabet without providing any instructions on how to arrange the letters into words...

Without any context, simply listing parameters and a list of possible values just isn't sufficient.

I see, thanks for the insight.

EDIT: I hope that DTG will be more open about file formats than Microsoft was.
