May 9, 200620 yr Looks interesting for the price, but I don't want to be the first to try it. :) If anyone has it, I'd like to hear your opinion. Thanks!Jim
May 10, 200620 yr Looks like the Simflyers airports, with new ground textures to me.. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
May 10, 200620 yr Yeah, Simflyers.I believe that Ocean Flight are all ex-Simflyers. It looks like a re-work of their previous designs. I gotta admit that the price is nice. Even if the only one I don't have already is KMCOBestBill
May 10, 200620 yr ashame that they dont cover anything in the western half of the US with the exception of LAX. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
May 10, 200620 yr I'm curious if the textures change with the season or if the airports are green year round.Jim
May 10, 200620 yr Guys all these airports are framerate hogs with the exception of KMCO (not a slam here but fact). Unless you like a virtual slide show on approach, I'd stay away from this package... :-roll
May 10, 200620 yr I assume from your comment that you own each of their previous releases? Do you know for a fact that they have not reworked the airports since their previous releases to make them more frame friendly for this release? What are the specs of your machine? How do you know they will be frame hogs on other machines? Why comment if you don't own it?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
May 10, 200620 yr Thomas I'm going to answer this for Chris...First off I own all the said sceneries in this package as I bought them when they were originally released. Your point about "Do you know for a fact that they have not reworked" only shows how uninformed you are about these sceneries and their developer. First off the original designer left Simflyers to form his own company (ImagineSim). Second he has not returned to work for Simflyers since his departure. Third there's no mention of an official upgrade concerning this package on Simflyer's website.Everyone who's been around this community for years knows Simflyer's has the worst performing sceneries around (next to Wilco's airports). No disrespect to Simflyers but what their doing here is trying to move product. With developers like FlyTampa and Cloud9, their work is most likely not selling these days. Why not offer all the sceneries in bulk??? I would do the same in the months leading up to FSX FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 10, 200620 yr I second Dillo and Chris on this.. Bought, Tried and Wiped.. still wayyy too unaceptable performance for me.
May 11, 200620 yr Author Dillon, my take is that Thomas wasn't challenging anyone, but you sure did go off on the defensive. He was merely asking if anyone actually had bought this new incarnation of these airports. The previous comments mention "rework" and I agree that I'd like to hear from someone who actually owns this version to confirm that it's unchanged. I didn't read his comments as a challenge to you or "us older simmers", and I did see his comments as just what you said: asking "in these forums to get an honest opinion", with the operative phrase being honest, not a preconceived notion from someone with an axe to grind.
