  1. Thanks for the note.I've actually pulled the hub out of the loop (tried a different hub too, still same issue). I'm trying to plug directly into the USB ports on in the back, on the Mobo to simplify things. I've tried a 2nd USB keyboard into the ports, and Vista recognizes that just fine. When I try my Saitek AV8R, or my CH yoke, or pedals, on the same port (after removing the 2nd keyboard) it does not recognize them, and gives no indication that anything has been plugged in. I also tried to "force" Vista to scan for devices by using device manager and successively "disable" USB enhanced controller entries in Device Manager - nothing. It has to be some Vista issue, or some setting in Vista. I have a laptop, with Vista 64 also, it has the same issue now too. Just before I packed them up, they did a vista update from MS. Now they don't recognize any USB game devices (they do recognize HDD's,mice, & keyboards etc.). I've tried to roll back all the updates, and tried an "upgrade" install - no joy.I'm stumped!I just don't want to have go down the clean window install route as that just stinks!!ThanksBill
  2. I have an issue that suddenly happened upon my moving, and re-assembling my computer that I use for FSI have Vista 64-bit, and now it does not recognize any of my USB joysticks, CH yoke & pedals. When I plug them in, I get no "sound" that they are connecting. They don't show up under game controllers under device manager either. When I plug a USB HDD into the port, it gets recognized by Vista.I've gone the route of a "repair/upgrade" install in Vista, and still no joy! I have the most updated drivers for my motherboard/sound card/ethernet/video etc. I even went and bought a basic joystick to see if it was the controllers themselves. The new joystick did not work eitherAnyone have any ideas? I'm stumped. I'm "locked out" of FSX without controllers!ThanksBillIntel I7 - 920Vista 64 SP216meg RamGigabyte GA-RX58-UD4P
  3. Hello,You can add me to the list of OOM errors with ASA & FSX (WinXP). Just tried the same flight twice, once with ASX, and once with ASA. Both were long (KJFK-RJAA), and both had Radar Contact & FS Commander running. The ASX flight completed just fine. The ASA flight received a OOM error after about 45-50 minutes. I can't do a flight over 45-50 mins with ASA, and not get an Out of Memory error.Hopefully they will work this one out soon. ThanksBill
  4. Jim,I was able to get ASA running, and updating after a complete, uninstall, re-install. And then only if I started FSX FIRST, and then layered in ASA (This was EXACT OPPOSITE of what I had to do to run ASX properly).Thanks.Bill
  5. Hello,I have installed ASA, and it seems to have installed OK. When I try and use it to generate weather in FSX, it does not seem to be communicating with FSX, and no weather updates occur. I am using FSX Acceleration, and it is NOT a network (I do have a registered version of FSUIPC installed). ASA seems to be communicating with the servers and downloads weather, but does not update it to the sim. All I get is "Fair Weather". ASX (which I upgraded from) still works perfectly well, and is able to update the weather in FSX just fine.I was wondering if this might be a Simconnect issue? I even tried the "downgraded" SP1 version and still no joy. ASA seems to find FSX, because I can launch FSX from within ASA.Any help would be appreciated.ThanksBill
  6. I've run into several of my AI aircraft if FSX that now suddenly "glow" when their lights turn off.See attached picture.I only run into it with the Fruit Stand A300, FSPainter MD-11 & A310, and Aardvark MD80. The picture attached is at KMEM at night. There are several EVAI DC-10's & AIA B727's that you can't see because they are properly blacked out.Anyone have any ideas how I could fix?ThanksBill
  7. I saw Pan American Airways on the list -PAN AM as in RCV4How about Pan American World Airways - CLIPPER?It just seems kind of wrong to be tooling around in a Pan American B707 and not be referred to as "CLIPPER".BestBill
  8. I thought that the MD-11 was FS2004 only?BestBill
  9. Yeah, Simflyers.I believe that Ocean Flight are all ex-Simflyers. It looks like a re-work of their previous designs. I gotta admit that the price is nice. Even if the only one I don't have already is KMCOBestBill

I've taught myself how to paint with the Aerosim paintkit for the SP. Even able to figure out alpha layers to get my American SP reasonable. Its really rather straightforward. If only I had more time, I'd clean 'em up and release 'em (United oc too).BestBill
  11. Here are a couple of early works-in-progrss on some SP repaintsBestBill
  12. I still have issues with anything assigned to the 747-Cargo page. No matter what I assign in terms of keys.I believe that it has to do with how I have the repaints installed however. I don't want to have 700Meg tied up in one plane with all the repaints I have. Each of my repaints are able to be added in and out seperately by each having its own folder, aircraft.cfg file, and .air file. I just alias the sound and panel as appropriate. Its the way that I have all of my 1000+ FS planes/repaints setup, including the PMDG747-400 PAX with no problems. That way I can move them in an out of FS as I need them. With the 400F, however, any settings with the 747-cargo page do not have any effect on any of my repaints. The "main" install, that I only keep the PMDG liveries in, seems to work, if that makes sense. I'm pretty much resigned to having no "full cargo" visual functionality at this point. Kind of a shame though. BestBill
  13. :)You know, even I could maybe on a really, really, good day figure out how to repaint that one.BestBill
  14. Here's further research. I can get the default liveries to work, but when I try my Air China,Cargolux, or Polar (all I have before the server restrictions) they DO NOT work. Hmm?? I can't imagine a livery installer would cause the issue. But I'll try to re-intall the liveries and see what happens.BestBill
  15. Okay, I've read Chapter 13, Have the proper bus AVAILABLE, assigned keys on the PMDG page. Still not able to activate any doors specific to the 400F. All the doors common to the 400Pax work fine (lower cargo etc.) I've even changed my key commands to match the ones in the earlier post. I've also checked for conflicts with FSNAV,ASV, etc. and can find no conflicts. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong???BestBill
  16. Oh, One minor little issue. The Pan Am version is set up using the RR (Rolls Royce) model. A little .air file editing is needed to get the proper PW version.BestBill
  17. Just picked it up.At last we have a SP for FS9 that has the visual model right. Seems to fly like you would expect a stubby 747 fly. I already have N530PA "Clipper Mayflower" enroute from Tokyo to New York. Now just have to get busy with the paintkit!! LOL!!!BestBill
  18. I guess as an owner of the Vol. 1 release, I can justify the $19.97 for what appears to be the best modeled 747SP in years. The VC-25A is just a bonus, for me. Although the unique modeling, including the different entry/exit, IR counter-measures, and assorted antennae, really make that model unique also. The value for Vol.1 for me is the 747 anyway. The 737 I still use FFX/SGA, and the 727 I still use Dreamfleet, so they really arn't a factor for me. The fairly accurate rendition of the 747-100/200 is the best I've seen. Yes you can go for detail of a PW-200 in Ready for Pushback, or use a fairly good freeware -200 from Posky if thats what you want. I just like the package of a good visual model, that flys well without being overly complex. Yes, I do fly the PMDG -400 (and will invest in the -400F when it comes out) and the PSS 777, and while "fun" can be a challenge to enjoy due to niggling little issues due to their complexity.Just my 2 centsBestBill
  19. That IS good news!!!Even the engine pylons, and different flap configuration looks as though they done right. Finally an SP for FS9!!! Between that, and the new B58 and upcoming B47 from Alphasim, it looks like there is a lot of flying to be done.BestBill(throw in a possible update from HJG, and I'd be positively lost as to which plane to fly.)
  20. Robert,Thanks for the update. It really seems as though the 747F is evolving into a major add-on for the 747pax. I can't wait for the full systems on the MD-11 too, that is a plane that has been needing the "PMDG treatment" for a long time. BTW, I just stumbled upon some old FS5 747 files by a certain R. Randazzo in my back ups from 1995!! Those were the days. We have come a long way since then.BestBill
  21. Boxes don't complain when the ride gets bumpy either!!!BestBill
  22. Excellent shots!!!!I guess its the lack of L1011's up until now that has fired the interest in that model. Its good to see that a few of the Aerosim B747 repaints are making it out the door. I really like that model, its a welcome diversion after having to "fiddle" with the PMDG B747/737 or PSS B777 (all great planes, I might add). I've actually painted up a few of the 747-100's for my own use (not to your quality though). I guess I;m tiding myself over until Aerosim releases the 747SP.Keep up the good work. Keep the "classic" 747's flowing!!!BestBill
