January 22, 20188 yr Hi guys, I reinstalled everything on a new rig recently, and I seem to remember that all of the PMDG aircraft had a panel state previousflt.xml or something similar on my old install. Somehow these are not showing up anymore. I am running p3dv4 in Admin mode, but I have to admit that I didn't install the aircraft in Admin mode. Could that be the culprit? And if so, do I need to reinstall them, or is there some other way around this issue? Thanks in advance! Sander Rutte
January 22, 20188 yr There are differences between PMDG products, so a blanket question covering all products may not be what you are looking for. In this case, I believe the previous flight information files have nothing to do with PMDG, rather I think they are generated by FSUIPC but I do not have a reference for that assumption. As long as your P3D is not installed to the Program Files directory I don't think you should have a problem with the installation security level. Just be sure to run P3D with admin rights. The PMDG product do have an option to always load a specified panel state. The easy way to start a new session where you left it in the previous session is to save the scenario before you exit. You can use the same filename each save. When you again start P3D be sure it opens the Scenario Setup screen first and select your previous scenario. This is similar to what I do, where I save the aircraft at the gate on ground air/power, unloaded and ready for the next flights preflight. I might not fly that scenario next session but the next time I want to depart from that location in that airframe and company then I load the scenario and update the date/time as appropriate. Works like a charm. Dan Downs KCRP

January 22, 20188 yr Author Thanks for the replies Dan and Kyle, much appreciated. I must have remembered incorrectly... Could have sworn there was such a thing :) Dan, I have in the past done what you suggest, with the saves and reloads. That works too. I guess I will go back to that system. Thanks again for getting back to me! Sander Rutte

Once you've completed your first flight, the sim will automatically save a flight with that name together with its accompanying panel state. That's true, but you can't count on the "previous flight" saved panel states for the NGX, QOT and 777 corresponding with the "previous flight" saved by FSX in ... Documents\Flight Simulator X Files. That is where you load from when resuming your flight. The "previous flight" I currently have in ...Flight Simulator X Files is for a different date and time than any of the PMDG saved "previous flight" files, and is not even for any PMDG aircraft! The "previous flight" files for each of the three PMDG aircraft just mentioned are each different as to time and date. So your best bet is to save your flight before you close with a unique, recognizable name, so when you open it you will get what you expect, as Dan suggested. (As he also suggested the "previous flight" files are created by FSUIPC, at least in my FSX setup.) Mike
January 23, 20188 yr Author Thanks Mike and Walter for your extra information. I forgot to mention, I am not running any version of FSUIPC. I will check again, Walter, to see if I can find that previous flight data next time I fire up the sim. It might be that I haven't flown a complete flight as such and that is why the panel state save isn't there yet. Will report back if I find the thing :) Have a good day! Sander Rutte
February 14, 20188 yr Author Just to keep things complete. The previous.flt.fxml files have returned! You were right Dan, they came back when I installed FSUIPC free version. Thanks again for the replies! Sander Rutte
