January 29, 20188 yr Hello , This abnormal behavior had happen to me in several occasions , also on other flights of my friend fly the QQTS , this problem randomly occurs under landing in windy conditions ,upon touchdown the aircraft will decelerate but with thr reverse applying speed suddenly accelerate what will cause bouncing landing and problem to stop the aircraft. This speed accelerate defiantly caused by the reverse thrust ! I attached a video of my landing which this issue occurs https://www.twitch.tv/videos/223399125?t=13h40m01s Amir friedland.
January 29, 20188 yr Commercial Member Amir, Just to add all the details, which are vital You are using Chaseplane with all effects in use. As I told you in the ticket you need to try without using the effects and see if this happens. Chris Makris PLEASE NOTE PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at http://forum.pmdg.com
January 29, 20188 yr Author Hi, The problem was spotted also with EZDOCK , so its not chase plane specific , though why its happening only in the 747 ? as I never had this problem with the ngx or the 777... Amir friedland.
January 29, 20188 yr EZDOCK has had more complaints here than Chaseplane, which what gamers seem to be migrating towards. The fact that you have not encountered this problem in other PMDG products does not mean the problem is with the 747, as you imply. I suggest you try Chris' recommendations, he is a pretty sharp cookie a couple of days a week. Dan Downs KCRP
January 29, 20188 yr Amir, I tried any x-wind possible up to 40 KTS L/R, 15 KTS tail and cannot duplicate your problem. I don't have Chaseplane or EZDOCK. Could it be related to WX settings? If you would, try disabling Chaseplane or EZDOCK and WX program and just enter manual a x-wind situation and see what is happening there please. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
January 29, 20188 yr Just going by the sounds it seemed to me as if thrust reverse was activated above idle reverse, then de-activated. I would hazard a guess that the thrust has to go somewhere - those engines cannot spool down instantly, hence the thrust was enough to accelerate the aircraft briefly. EDIT - looking closely at the eicas it does appear that reverse was cancelled and then re-applied... I apologise if reverse thrust was fully applied throughout the landing - it was just something else to consider.. Good luck. January 29, 20188 yr I've had it happen before where despite applying full reverse thrust, the plane accelerated. It's only happened a few times, and I don't recall what weather conditions were, so couldn't pinpoint whether any weather could cause it. That said, I don't use Chaseplane or EZDock, so I can rule that possibility out. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
