Looking 4 payware bizzjet + speed increase tweak for Q400

Featured Replies

Hello all :)Two questions if I may!1. Looking for a new Bizzjet-----------------------------Could you guys point me to some new payware businessjets? Right now Im looking at Eaglesofts Citation X but if Im not mistaken its an oldish product. Nothing wrong with that - it looks excellent - but is there anything newer out there? Googling didnt pull anything up except the usual freeware models so I thought Id ask you lot on here. If not Im going for the CX! 2. Increasing cruise speed of Dash 8 Q400-----------------------------------------The Dreamwings Dash 8 Q400 was unflyable with its original .air file. Despite great help from fellow Avsimmers I was still not able to fly the airplane. In desperation I replaced the original Q400 .air file with the .air file from the Dreamwings Fokker 50. It worked like a charm and now the Q400 flies beautifully. Except that its cruise speed is snail-like. Could someone please tell me what entries to tweak in the .air & .cfg files to increase its cruise speed? I have AirEd!Thanks very much :)

If you're into biz-turboprops, consider the Pilatus PC-12 recently released by Flight1.And there is the top-notch freeware Socata TBM700 right here in the library. As for pure jets, though, I don't really know of any except Eaglesoft's line, which you're already looking at.

Thanks Michael! I have the freeware TBM and the AFG PC12 which are both brilliant. But you guessed right...at this time I am looking for pure jet corporate planes. Looks like I will go with Eaglesoft! I have to say I did find a very nice freeware Citation on Avsim. Nice engine sounds, wingviews and all!:)

And that Citation would be? :)

Thank you for the link. :)

Thanks Leon! I did not know about that fix :) Nice little jet and free too!

It's a bit amazing for me that this is one sector that's been relatively ignored in the FS community. I would really like to see many more choices in the corporate jet area. If any of you read FLYING or FORBES magazines, then you know that the ownership of these planes is increasingly rapidly as the airlines are more restrictive on their schedules. Very versatile planes that can go to the big hubs as well as that small strip where a customer may be located. We will probably have to wait until FSX, as I would not suspect that anyone is going to invest any time in developing any new planes for FS9. Vent off ;-) Mike

I have purchased the Citation X and ES Beechjet, but IMHO these are really inferior to the heavy jets from PMDG for example. I find the ES products to have not very crystal clear panels, and the Citation X, though the external model is nice is just subpar. IMHO I believe a truly first class product (I have begged PMDG for this) in the bizjet class would be an instant winner. But it could be that the market for such is less than I anticipate. I still fly the old Falcon 50 which was ahead of its time. I would shell out $35 easy for a PMDG quality bizjet.Noel

The reason you see few corporate jets is quite simple. They are sometimes difficult to gain access to, and they require a LOT of time and work.Eaglesoft Flagship CX is currently undergoing a complete rebuild with an eye to to the future and FSX! Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP are also being treated to the same process. As time permits, ALL of our current aircraft will undergo a complete revision to bring them highest standard possible. Many will include GDI+ Glass Gauges, TCAS for single and multiplayer, fully functional FMS and accurate/realistic custom Autopilots along with improved panel graphics and other features to be outlined as we move forward.Sorry for what seems to be an "infommercial" but wanted folks to be aware that we are working hard to assure that our current and future aircraft will offer more than enough features to satisfy the most discriminating flight sim enthusiast:-)Meantime, take a look at yet another upcoming project:-)http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/CitationXLS.htm

------------------------------------------------ I have purchased the Citation X and ES Beechjet------------------------------------------------Noel - Could you please tell me if those two planes have animated wingviews? Thanks!!

I'm not Noel, but if you mean animated Ailerons, Flaps, Spoilers, etc. the answer is yes. If you mean animated wing flex, the answer is no:-)

Looks nice Ron. Then again Eaglesofts stuff always has. You answered a question I had about why biz jets seem to be lagging other types. It raises a couple of more. Why is getting access difficult? Rarity of the AC in question? Manufactures want high licensing fees? Owners are not open to people poking through their ac?You asked me in another thread what I was contributing to the community - I never got a chance to answer - information. So far I have writen a history of the Beech Model 18 and volpar Trigear, talked about the tech of the Moller Skycar, and even about piloting techniques and power in the Galeb. When I write I want to find out about the plane and its history, or expand upon a technique and so on. I try to write so eveybody can understand. As the site is new, I am still in the process of learning how to "do it right". And yes I have an agenda... I want it to succeed. ;)CheersShad
