Deltaair1212,

In which sim are you having the FS Force disconnect?

P3Dv4.1. I had FSX:SE with FSForce a while ago but had the same issues. On different joysticks too.

Do your forces come back after reinitialize? how many times during a flight do they cut out on average? If they dont come back then that would be seriously annoying however nobody else is reporting that.

I just bought a new case with 3.0USB connections so we’ll see if that makes any difference.

Did you mean 3 USB connections or USB 3.0 connections? If it's the latter, remember that the MS FFB2 joystick was not designed for USB 3.0 and, although it may work OK, could possibly complicate the diagnosis further if you plug it into a USB 3.0 port.

My MSFFB is plugged into an external USB 3.0 hub, that's plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard back panel, and it works great. My MB is a Gigabyte Z170x-UD5.

I didn't say that it wouldn't work, just that it could possibly complicate things further. Some USB 2.0 products work perfectly in USB 3.0 ports, others (for inexplicable reasons) don't. I have 2 similar USB 2.0 memory sticks which both work perfectly in USB 2.0 ports but only one works in a USB 3.0 port. Better not to introduce that risk when Deltaair is already having problems.

Good point. My fear is that he may never solve his problem on his current hardware, and maybe a change in hardware will eliminate the cause. If a new MB with the different drivers, etc. etc. doesn't fix it for him...I wouldn't even make a guess where to go from there.

I suppose it's always possible that it's a bad usb plug on his MSFFB cord.

Another user with same issue. Almost every flight on takeoff forces just dissapear and three disconnects and connects of the fs forcé sometimes fixes it. It also sometimes dissapear when lading in the ils dropping the gear.

I tried with two different MSFF2 one grey buttons and other red. On FSX/ FSX steam edition and and in demo área in P3dv4.0 with different aircraft and it happens in every case.

Im leaning towards the issue being direct x since it doesnt happen so often if AS16 isnt used

Also according to these fórums:

For my try on a Stick it is recognized by Windows as a FFB Device and can be used with the DirectX Force Feedback Test Tool. (Or in Games for that matter). But the Communication will Freeze sometime after any Effect is set on the Device.

Directx is problematic

Which version of windows are you using?

Your link tends to reinforce the idea that it's not a problem specifically with FS Force but rather an intermittent problem within Windows.

If i completely migrate to p3dv4 ill go to windows10 ( even though i hate the built in spyware from Microsoft ) But i still use Fsx because there is no ATR for P3d
