June 20, 200619 yr Just took a couple short flights in the new Aero Commander 520 version 3 posted to the library today. It is a fantastic plane and I highly recommend it to all. High quality and it's even free!KP
June 20, 200619 yr I also noticed that Milton and his crew just released that. I still fly quite often their cargo AC500, so I can't wait to try out this more recent (FS speaking) model. One way or the other, you can't miss with them. June 20, 200619 yr Absolutely fabulous release; she handles like a dream. Now I just need to find a good soundset for her. Anyone know of a good one? A quick search of the sounds category at Avsim didn't bring up much for the Commander. If anyone knows of a good one, please recommend!Kudos to Mr. Shupe and team for this one!
June 20, 200619 yr Fantastic job, guys. A great rework of an old classic warhorse, now with a sweet re-done (and very clear) VC!Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina

It's in the Flightsim.com library. acsndz.zip by Aaron Swindle. Thanks a lot to Milton and company for this new model.Jim
June 20, 200619 yr Thanks for the sound info. I am really pleased with this plane.I've only noticed one "problem" as such with the plane. The airspeed indicator seems to show you are going about 20 knots faster than you actually are. Anyone else seeing this?KP
June 21, 200619 yr Does this aircraft use default or custom gauges? Thanks,Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
June 21, 200619 yr This is neat!! Can anyone tell me how to get the panel and landing lights on, did the switch for landing but did not show up on the ground..........also the heading indicator stys in one direction, reather than move with plane direction.........could these two problems be a error in the "effects" file in FS9 effects location??........on that subject, what is the effects file for, as opposed to the aircraft file which has all of the model, etc?? like this plane but want to have it do what supposed to....Thanks, RRL

Possibly a configuration issue?
June 21, 200619 yr LOL, that explains it! :)Thanks for the info and thanks for this wonderful aircraft. I'm flying it in a thunderstorm at the moment!KP
June 21, 200619 yr I found the developers website and downloaded the 520 again and overwrite the first download........now the lights work like a charm....what a smooth flying aircraft!!Now another question, how do you add the new sounds?? Are they different from what the original designers used?? Also, on most airplanes, the heading indicator rotates with the direction of the plane, this one does not, (at least on my download) was that standard at the time this plane was flying?? Thanks everyone.....RRL
June 21, 200619 yr Regarding sounds, follow the author's installation instructions to replace the contents of the existing Sound folder for the aircraft. The AC520 custom gauges are representative of the original AC520 and the era.
June 21, 200619 yr Thank you, I for one, am really impressed with the people that can make omething like this come to life............Many Thanks
June 21, 200619 yr Milton, I'm confused by the NAV lights. The overhead panel doesn't match the overhead in the panel docs. The NAV light switch doesn't seem to do anything. The beacon and strobes work normally, but the NAV light switch operates like a momentary switch and always pops back to the off position. The illustration in the panel docs shows the NAV light switch with a Steady or Flash position, then the Landing, Beacon, and Panel switches. The actual overhead panel has Panel, Beacon, Nav, Strobe, and Landing switches.Am I missing something? Thanks!Jim
