Potential Fix for voice recognition issues

Found it today after 2hrs of work:

Check that in the windows privacy settings the: allow apps to access your phone is not off! Funny thing is that discord, self listening etc. works when it's off so don't get fooled.

Windows spring update definitely broke something.  It turned my mic off as part of some new privacy setting and then the mic sensitivity was set to almost zero so the FO understood almost nothing of what I was saying.  Anyway, I think I have it back up to normal now.

Do you think the Windows Spring update changed something?

Can't confirm that but many people out there are customizing their Win to maximum in settings. When you hit about 20000x switches for privacy, performance etc. then a wrong click can happen very fast.

Also the most interesting part is that self listening works in audio settings as well as some voice apps. Discord worked but the pre-installed voice recorder is going bonkers.

Also it should be Microphone and not phone. I'll edit my OP.

  • 4 months later...

Please help, I uninstalled Realtek audio manager yesterday and it sorted my voice problem with Fs2crew not picking up my voice but today now my computer has no sound. I reinstalled Realtek high definition driver and sound is back but Fs2crew voice isn’t. Please help me I’m at a loss. It either is no sound or no Fs2crew. Is there an alternative to Realtek that would work with Fs2crew as Realtek really doesn’t work. I’m so dissapointed, I had it working but now it’s not and it’s all cause of Realtek audio hd driver.

Problem is you're using 3rd party Realtek drivers... maybe Asus one.

Use Microsoft Realtek drivers that come with your OS.

From the FAQs:

Question:  I get no headset audio, or I'm losing my audio.

Answer: Uninstall your current audio drivers via the Windows Control panel, and re-start your system.  You want to use the Microsoft "Realtek" drivers.  Sometimes, custom audio drivers can cause this issue.

FYI I use a Logitech headset and also the Realtek driver.

This windows setting is completely irrelevant when it comes down to drivers, as the system doesn't allow some apps to communicate with the hardware.

So what you’re saying is that Realtek does or doesn’t work with Fs2crew?

the guys at a computer repair store told me that Realtek blocks some apps too. Thanks

Dear Byork, I took my pc to a licensed Msi Repair shop and they looked at Fs2crew software and said that it is up to you to make it work with Realtek drivers. They said it should work with these drivers 1st time around as they are the most common of drivers. They also said that Fs2crew isn’t a professional company and that you aren’t professional developers if an issue like this exists. He advised me to ask for a refund, which is what I would like, as I now have a piece of expensive software that doesn’t work with the most common shipped driver of any computer in the world. Under trading standards rules, this isn’t legal.

I would like a refund please.

I'm using Realtek drivers as shown in the screen shot below.  And I suspect 99.9 percent of our users use Realtek drivers as well.

You have some other issue on your system.

At any rate, send me a support ticket via: www.fs2crew.com

Cheers,

I don’t have any other issue on my system, it’s been checked for viruses , bloatware, updates, bugs and everything else. All other sound applications work perfectly. You said so many times that Fs2crew doesn’t work with Realtek drivers and now you say it does. My computer has been checked with no other problems. support from Fs2crew doesn’t sort the issue.

If I do not receive a refund and or sufficient support I will contact trading standards U.K. and follow for my refund. I am a lawyer and am specialised in trade standard laws, I suggest the refund otherwise it could prove more expensive for Fs2crew.

I didn’t intend to create a threat, I stated a couple of facts. I’m not causing any trouble nor did intend to. No need to be rude and say “done with me”.
