Once I get it, I'll write a review and maybe even record something so that there is a little more information out there for others looking to buy one.  Thanks to those who responded!

Hello Justin.

By reading this thread you created it is apparent that numerous simmers would appreciate some real feedback from someone actually using a Brunner yoke. It’s been a year since you should have received yours. By now you’re bound to have logged some hours with the Brunner.

Budget isn't really the problem.

The Brunner does require a sizable investment and for many simmers budget can be a problem.

Hi all - I literally created an account to ask this (love the forum, by the way).

One of the things to love about AVSIM is the willingness of knowledgeable, experienced simmers to share what they’ve learned for the benefit of the community at large.

So...Given that numerous people would appreciate a first hand opinion from someone with Brunner experience prior to dropping a bunch of cash...can we get a review?

Happy flying,

Don

CLS-E-NG.. start to build confidence .... I think I'll pull the trigger soon ., hopefully setting up for my Baron B58 & THE C172SP is not to complicated

Cheers

So as stated before, I ended up getting the CLS-E model but did get some hands on experience with the NG model at flight expo. I just flew my first flight with the CLS-E model and i am in love with this yoke! To compare it to the NG model...i would say that yes there is twice the travel ( which i like) but still seems like more than the Saitek and twice the force ( which is a lot with this yoke) maybe overkill even, but bar none you cant go wrong with either of them honestly. take this from a RWP these yokes are the next best thing and BLOW AWAY any other yoke on the market. So much easier to fly than my Saitek! My Saitek feels like a Fisher Price toy compared to these yokes! I tested the Yoko yoke plus at expo to, and no comparison, feeling the forces of the air at different speeds and just not having the yoke go back to center when released is real-world.  Having to actually move the yoke the opposite direction at the completion of a turn is incredible and for me worth the expensive price of these yokes! Anyone who buys the NG, will be very happy with it...its just a little bit lesser version of the CLS-E...honestly felt the same as far as the feeling of the motor, just less force, but extremely accurate! I hope this helps...I know you guys are looking for info on the NG, as was I and there is very very little out there, but these Brunner units, either of them, will take your simulation to the next level! chow!

You'd have to quantify that question a bit more. Crosswind? Every aircraft is different in how secondary forces are felt. I'm saving up for a full CLS setup at some point this winter. Not a doubt in my head this is the way to go for realism.

Stick, rudder and yoke are silly money so it'll take some saving......

Mark JHarris, you will love it! well worth the money if you really enjoy simming! It does emulate crosswind btw...i just havent gotten it dialed in yet. I got a bit of a shock yesterday flying P3D...was flying the F1 B200 Super King Air and i didnt realize the AP button on the G1000 was pressed so as i got to about 800 ft on takeoff all of a sudden my yoke got real stiff and i could not turn it or pull back or forward....thats whe i realized the auto pilot activated....to see the yoke act like a real autopilot was just another justification to spend this much money...just like the real thing! Now i have to admit i want the pedals too 😞

I have to agree with Flyboychris1. I purchased the CLS-E yoke and rudder combo, they just arrived yesterday. The yoke is amazing and extremely well built. New to the sim world so I can’t speak on the CH or any other yokes out there. I’m in the process of getting my PPL so on bad weather days wanted to get practice in. Very similar to the feel of a real plane as far as control goes. I watched all the videos and done as much research as I could on the combo but there is not much out there and decided to bite the bullet and take a chance. Money well spent in my opinion. I will say with the rudder pedals  make sure you mount them to something or find a way to hold down. Currently have mine on carpet flooring and they slide around when working the rudder. I’ll have to make a fixture or come up with something to mount them to.

I own a CLS-E bundle yoke + rudder.

The rudder is OK. Yoke is not (except if you plan to solely fly C172 and B58 with P3D and eventually XP11).
Considering the price I paid for the bundle I clearly say that it is the worst investment I ever made.
Today it's my "first time" for publishing a negative advice about a product I bought and I'm OK with that as I'm expecting solutions for problems reported months ago (by add-ons developers not by me!).

Last but not least, at this moment, it doesn't work with MS2020...

I have the Brunner CLS-E yoke and rudder pedals as well and I can say quite the contrary, in my experience it is one of the best investments I have made so far in terms of feel and quality. Care to elaborate on what issues you are having with it? I know the software is quite daunting at first but it can literally be programmed to have any feel you desire once you learn how the profile creation works, and there is lots of profiles you can download from the cloud. I do admit that it is not the most user-friendly of devices but as a real-world pilot I can say its the only thing I've tried which comes close to the forces you feel on a real yoke.

About the MS2020 issue, yes this is unfortunate for now. CLS2SIM uses sim-connect to access the simulator and the release version of MSFS has a bug in the sim-connect interface. It did however work in the alpha versions which I was a part of so it should be a simple fix from Microsoft. By the way the yoke does work in MSFS 2020, you just wont have any of the added FFB effects until MS fixes the issue, for now just a static force with hardware trim ability as defined in your profile.

So, update. No progress for me. My Laptop dumped it's WIN10 and too kall my autocad programme with it. Managed to recover the files but not the program yet.

I sold a lot of bike parts this last winter and used the funds to purchase a DofReality P6 motion platform. Since then has come Covid19, furlough and a serious depletion of my funds.

Of course Murphy's law applied. The moment I got round to starting to unbox the platform, I got called back to work. Not enough in the bank to take this winter off so this might take

some time.....

Just bought a CLS-E NG  yoke after playing around with a Modified Saitek yoke. Ok the difference in PRICE is humongous  BUT the feel and quality set this yoke apart. After installing, I used the yoke without the cls2m software, just calibrated it in P3D v5.1. In this mode it had the centering effect but the yoke moved to follow the trim on elev. and aileron so that was nice to see. Never tried the Autopilot to see if it followed it.

Next I opened the software and yes there are 2 boxes to click, but first you must have the sim running whatever sim you are using and then the software connects easily. I then looked around for a while trying to find how to download the Profile for the Beech Baron on their web site. Seems that you need to register in the Brunner Forum before you can d/l the profiles that are listed there. After loading up the Baron profile I decided a flight was in order to check this out. After the normal checklist setting prior to flight including take off trim set, I noticed at idle the yoke was full fwd, thats OK, and the yoke was vibrating with the engines running, thats  OK, accelerate and the yoke starts to move back as airflow goes over the elevator, thats OK, as airpseed gathers near 60 k the yoke goes FWD a bit then at 80 k moves back more and then the aircraft just launches in the air with no input from me !!! a quick adjustment on the trim and all is OK.  During the flight the Ailerons behaved as expected becoming very heavy in a steep turn and lighter in level flight same as the Elevator to the point of stall. Now for the landing and well that was just a no brainer, not having to put up with a sticky and null zone in the elevator that the Saitek had I greased it onto the runway.

I am going to make some adjustments in the software as I feel what Brunner have as their profile is not how I would expect the Baron to fly, and it certainly is not like other Baron aircraft that I have flown in the various simulators. One thing I have done is to reduce the engine vibration to 10% at idle this makes for more realistic feel, and disconnected the stick shaker, small A/C don't have them.

Overall impression after just 3 days flight time...... IMPRESSED........ Money well spent................Looking forward to how this beast can be tamed better for more realistic flight which I am sure it can be and if Austin, from X-Plane gets involved in modifying the software, which he volunteered to do on his you tube vid, then we can all expect a wonderful piece of extremely well engineered hardware.

Glad you like it!  It certainly is a fantastic piece of hardware.
