PMDG 747-400 V3 Go Around Tutorial?

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone who would be willing to do a tutorial video on a Go Around in this beautiful piece of work by PMDG?

I'm curious to see, because I do not feel I am following standard procedures for this. And, I'd prefer visual representation with explanations as to what is going on.

Thank you!

It's quite simple really.

- TOGA
- Flaps 20
- GA Attitude
- Positive rate, Gear UP
- LNAV or HDG (roll mode)
- VNAV (pitch mode)
- Retract flaps on schedule
- After Takeoff Checklist

That's it!

No AP in my world. 🙂

Surely you can do this all with your own hands, no kidding.😄

For old timers it's something like this:

- GA thrust (manually)
- Flaps 20
- GA attitude
- Positive rate, Gear UP
- Clean up on speed schedule (manually)
- After TO Checklist

Every six months in the sim during recurrent with an engine failure/fire and circle to land at night and wx at minimums.  And did I mention I do all this without the A/P. In situations like this I am much more comfortable flying it manually than with the A/P. 🙂

Also FCOM page 147 describes the steps each crew member does.

You can try also pushing the TOGA switch a second time if you need a more "aggressive" TOGA

Be sure to set the missed approach altitude on the MCP once you've coupled up on the glideslope.
