So the Aeroplane Heaven Lanc is out and available from Just Flight. However I'm stuck at work, has anyone bought it yet? Early impressions?

Chris

Yup, just bought it, will post a vid shortly.

Great Al. Was hoping this would spring up before making the buy as I have read less than enthusing reports about AH.

Aeroplane Heaven's niche appears to be older prop aeroplanes without too many complex modern avionics systems, so their Spitfire 1A, P-47, F3F, B-17F/G etc, tend to be the good ones, and I think this AVRO Lancaster is one to add to that list of good ones, it's a nice stablemate for the (also recently released) Flight Replicas Handley Page Halifax. Anyway, here's a vid of literally my first go in this new Lancaster after having just installed it; if you've seen the 1955 Michael Anderson Dambusters movie, you'll recognise where I'm flying the thing, which is not too far from where I live:

First thing that comes to mind? Rad shutters to auto.

Jude Bradley
Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

Is that Barton Aerodrome you're sat at prepping the plane?

Will be bought as soon as I get home.

Thanks for the vid. Now all I need is orbx true earth England.

I don't suppose you were using it with a2a's p3d version of accufeel?

Nope, Woodford EGCD (now closed, but still in FSX and P3D owing to the old database and tarted up in UK2000's regional airfield package V3, which is the scenery in this case). It was somewhere I often saw Lancaster flying from and they do still give the site a fly by on special occasions since the AVRO museum is there.

Although I knew someone whose Brother 'accidentally' diverted his Lancaster to Barton in WW2 once when coming back from a mission, just so he could visit his home at Stretford lol.

Ah yes, Alan, the inevitable connection between Avro, Greater Manchester and Woodford.

I have most  of the UK2000 stuff, bought, but don't recall getting Woodford, although I do have some Orbx regional airports, the smaller ones.

Rick Almeida

UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume 3, I think is the one where you get Woodford, Woodvale, Warton, Barton etc.

Rewatched the video and can see you did have accufeel but turned it off. Do you find it benefits nicely with it on?

Yup, I think AccuFeel is one of the best add-ons there is and it can add something to pretty much every aeroplane, but certainly to big old prop planes from WW2. If you've ever flown in anything like that, you'll know they really do rattle and bang a bit, they weren't built with comfort as their biggest priority.

Oh I know about that and own accufeel, just wondered if you felt the lanc bwas hugely improved by it or if there were any negatives.

I now own it and spent a couple of hours playing around with it. Thumbs up!

Chris

Is there any aircraft that Alan DOESN'T own? 😅 He's like a walking Wikipedia for simming aircraft. Great stuff lad, it's much appreciated.

Best regards,
