November 2, 20187 yr Long pauses/freezes/P3D not responding then flight resumes. Happens during all phases of flight sever times per flight. Test flight CYVR-KSEA PMDG777 v 1.10.8886 P3Dv4.3.25520 ActiveSky16 (P3D) Tested without ActiveSky16 running and same problem. Did a typical screenshot during the pause/freeze. Notes: All flights in PMDG737 (P3D) have been ok. PMDG777 P3Dv3.4, same flight with ActiveSky16 all ok I am new to PMDG T7. I searched an found a suggestion to check FSUIPC Autosave .. I do not do the autosave. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

Vancouver to Seattle.... pretty short 777 hop but that should not be a problem. What happens when you fly Tutorial #1 for the 777? Edited November 2, 20187 yr by downscc Dan Downs KCRP

Hi Dan: You mentioned Vancouver to Seattle.... pretty short 777 hop but that should be a problem. Did you mean should not be a problem? I read the tutorials to learn the T7 systems / procedures. I fly short flights while learning. Of the aircraft I fly PMDG777 / P3Dv4.3 is the only one freezing / locking and recovering after some period of time. As I mentioned the same short flight T7 P3Dv3.4 was all ok. I did another search and this topic mirrors my current problem. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/419895-777-freezing/ Edited November 2, 20187 yr by vonmar Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
November 2, 20187 yr Yeah, I went back and edited to should not but those edits don't make it into a forum notification message. Those were 2013 posts referring to FSX, and I would see those too in FSX but never P3D. By any chance to you have HT turned on? If so, try turning that off and do a test. You can always turn it back on but I've seen posts by one of the LM guys that HT is not optimum for P3D. Also be aware there are big differences between workload on CPU, GPU and complexity of 777 vs the NG. I asked about the Tutorial flight to see if it happens in other sessions besides CYVR-KSEA. November 2, 20187 yr Author i7 6700 and all 8 cores working ... ok on all other aircraft in FSX Accel., P3Dv4.3 and all previous versions of P3D and Xplane 10 and 11. This (cores, infinity mask, overclocking , etc) is not an area I mess with. " I've seen posts by one of the LM guys that HT is not optimum for P3D. " Not optimum? I did not see that. What does PMDG recommend for the T7? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

November 4, 20187 yr Author Dan, thanks for the follow up. I did a couple test to see if I could create a situation that caused display freezing with long pauses then recovering. All test begin the same: Reboot PC Start P3Dv4.3 Selected PMDG 777 (AAL repaint in my case) at any departure airport (CYVR and KDTW for my tests). PMDG777 loaded / default PMDG777 config / engines running. Set flaps 5, no CDU entries, set MCP, takeoff and manually fly around tracking VOR radials. ******** Results: Tests without Active Sky and no FMC/CDU setup all ok no freezes. Tests with Active Sky (no flight plan loaded) and no FMC/CDU setup all ok. Last test with Active Sky with flight plan loaded. I forget which one e.g., KDTW - KCLE or KDTW - KJFK. All ok until I decided to try loading a PMDG rte via CDU. Then I got the freezes with long pauses and then recovery from the freeze. Got a couple screenshots of the freezing event and recovery. Edit: You mentioned " You are at the point where I think you should post a trouble ticket with PMDG Product Support. " I normally wait a little while to see if other pilots report their findings here. And sometimes PMDG Support offers additional information here in the forum topics. Also: my first post mentioned ActiveSky16 (P3D) . It should have been ActiveSky (P3Dv4) My Active Sky versions are ASP3Dv4 v 6773 and AS16 P3Dv3 6452 Edited November 4, 20187 yr by vonmar Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

November 4, 20187 yr I use PFPX extensively.... what you are seeing is not normal. Honest Vaughan, PMDG doesn't mind if you submit a trouble ticket in fact they are proud of their customer support.... and this here is not customer support because it is a user to user forum that occasionally is moderated by someone from PMDG. Hi Dan : thanks for the follow up. I am ok with using the PMDG Support Ticket system. I have submitted PMDG Support Tickets in the past. In fact, I still have two unresolved tickets from Oct 2017. Anyway, I did another test yesterday. P3Dv3.4, PMDG777, departed KJFK, manual flying, no CDU entries, no Active Sky, headed west. At 10000 feet I decided to do a CDU Route Request using a previously saved PFPX route KJFKKDFW01. The route UpLinked / loaded ok. There were no freezes/pauses. As I previously mentioned my current problem (777 freezing) is exactly the same as this post and replies from Sept 2013 :https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/419895-777-freezing/ So, I am planning to do a few more local tests and internet searches later today.
