As has been mentioned several times, it's very easy to permanently turn off driver updates so this is shouldn't stop anyone from choosing Windows 10. Remember that you also get automatic driver updates in Windows 7 unless you turn them off so there's no difference in this respect between the two operating systems.

There is no reason to go to W7 unless you want to upgrade your PC for future sim  hardware and GPU drivers.

Did you read the linked article? I quote: "The reason why the execution of such code is accomplished automatically and without user intervention...". Yes, you have to go to the website in the first place but many otherwise legitimate sites have been compromised over the years.
