January 23, 20197 yr Valid? If the question is whether the i9-9900K is compatible with the Z390, then yes it is. The GSkill 3600 CAS 15 RAM (2x8GB) I'm using has been very good memory. January 24, 20197 yr Yep, a 9900K on a Z390 and overclocked to 5 GHz is a "valid" build... not a bad combo at all. Another good choice for memory is the GSkill 3200 TridentZ CAS 14... overclocks well. A critical factor in building a 9700K/9900K system is cooling. You'll need plenty of it... and it won't be cheap. I do not understand everyone's obsession with the 9900K. To achieve a good overclock with a 9900K with acceptable temps u will have to disable HT. Matt Wilson

January 25, 20197 yr Ive used the Msi board. You don't need water cooling. See last pages here: Regards Howard H D Isaacs
