February 22, 20197 yr Moderator This is a remarkable commemmoration of an event 75 years ago today. A US Air Force WW2 aircraft narrowly avoided killing children when it crashed in Sheffield, England on 22 Feb 1944 killing all on board. Mr Foulds tended the memorial all his life and was rewarded this morning when the USAF and RAF performed a fly-by over the spot. What a great tribute to both Mr Foulds and the brave crew. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-47323045 Ray (Cheshire, England). February 22, 20197 yr Good Morning Ray, and hats off to you. Fantastic post and link. All kudos to you. Aviation is not all about the 'glory's stories. This is human pathos. Fab read. And hats off to the RAF+USAF out of Lakenheath👍 Edited February 22, 20197 yr by vc10man punctuation Rick Almeida
