If this really bugs you, you could disable the auto-throttle in the aircraft.cfg (under [autopilot], change the line autothrottle_available = 1 to autothrottle_available = 0). Of course, that doesn't remove the 'SPD' button from the panel, but it's something.

I just don't use it, and set my throttles manually as God and Bill Lear intended. 😉

I will say that, while there are planes with better accuracy out there, none of them has made me laugh out loud on the first flight like the -25 did. The 8-track player complete with bad 70's music is hilarious, as is the overall decor - you can almost see the cocaine residue on all the horizontal surfaces. 😉 It's one of the few planes with inaccuracies that I fly regularly.

@eslader: Your comment made me laugh! Thanks! For me, the XP L25 definitely has a "fun factor" which keeps me coming back. It may not be "100%" accurate (but I'm not a real pilot either). I had a few minor problems when I first bought the plane, but, the technical support from XP was both prompt and courteous. My impressions at the time (and today) are that this is a developer I'll choose to support going forward.

I've bought many aircraft from the "puppy mill" company...none of those aircraft hold a candle to the XP L25, IMHO, for "fun factor" and dependable repeat-ability between sessions. (BTW, I have the same feeling/opinions of FSW...their L35 and Falcon also provide a lot of enjoyment...and of course, FSW is (hyper)actively making improvements to their product line.)

Totally!! LOL

I've updated the tracks on the player to something more to my liking so I actually use it. Regarding the auto-throttle, despite it's lack of realism, it's actually a blessing of sorts in that at certain phases of flight, the 25 is a bit of a handful and without a FO, the auto-throttle can come in pretty handy.

If I could get one improvement, it would be an upgrade in cockpit lighting. It's pretty basic ATM. (Second would be to add rain & fog effects to the windows).

The SPD button isn't a speed hold anyway it's a pitch mode which makes the autopilot climb at the speed you're at when the button is pressed

Nah, I just think it’d be neat if Eaglesoft released a product.
