Just yesterday, FSPlanet has released some brand-new screenshots. Go to http://www.fsplanet.com/fsplanet_com_fsx.htm to see them.(Sorry if they've already been posted elsewhere.)

Yeah, those screenshots are old.BTW, linking to fsplanet is a capital offense. :-hangJust kidding. It's just that fsplanet is a notorious leecher of freeware files. Most people whose files are there don't even know it, even if they've specifically stated that only certain sites are allowed to host their file.

Ferdie strikes again! :-lol :-lol :-lol

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

I wonder if the FSPlanet link will continue to be shown on the "Community" part of the FSX website as it does on the FS2004 one?

>They say they are "the first" to show you. You have got to>be kidding...LMAO.That might have been true when they first started posting them but I never go to the site so I wouldn't know. :-)

Well, being that they made the mistake of dating the topic "6-12-06" and labeled as "new" I don't think they can even use that excuse....LOLTo boot most of those screenies were delivered exclusive to the main sites like Avsim and Simflight. I know for a fact that the helo shot over the freeway in SEA was for Simflight only because I remember the day someone here posted a link to it and I remember replying to the topic here in Avsim...LOL.

Ah rgr that, yes it does. I must have missed it because it was blocked with the pop that appears.;) Or maybe it was the words "first to..." I stand corrected...lol

not that old then. If they use US software it most likely uses US date format which illogically puts the months first...Real people of course put the year first, using yyyyMMdd.

"Someone needs to file a lawsuit against them."I've written a lot of odd freeware add-ons, some good, some not so good. Even if a site leeched all of them I would waste more time in stress, challenge and frustration than the collective "damage" I'd get from such a site. In the big picture, one author isn't the reason people go to such a site. In the example of FSPlanet, they do make a pretty good effort on presentation and sometimes do a better job on presenting titles than the freeware authors themselves. I think this forum is really for the purposes of talking about FS-X--we shouldn't let this thread turn into a rehash of FSPlanet discussions, but that's just my feeling.-John

John, I know many developers who have had issues with FSPlanet stealing their files. Action has been taken against them in the past, but it is a definite battle..The problem happens when a freeware developer needs to move into commercial development, and hence licensing issues come into play etc etc etc...This is why developers will only allow their files to be hosted on certain sites, because it allows control over their content, ensures that viruses are not introduced etc etc etc...It is relevant to FSX because as someone stated in the past, there was an apparent link to them in the past in flight sim related stuff...I don't believe they should be given the time of day anymore especially through official channels IMHO.:-mad Those jerks have my files hosted again.... Time to do something about it again!

Okay this is the result of the conversation I have just attempted to have with Fernando:Dean says:If you don't remove my files and keep them permanently off your site I will be making sure every legal action is taken against you. My product is COPYRIGHT, and is not in the public domain. You do not have permission to host my files, and it says so very clearly in the release notes. I am under contractual obligations only to have the files hosted at avsim and flightsim ONLY. http://www.fbi.gov/ipr/ <- you might want to read through this...Warning: The unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. Criminal copyright infringement, including infringement without monetary gain, is investigated by the FBI and is punishable by up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000.Ferdy & Chippi EB5DQH says:first of all... education is everythingHELLOthat's the first thingDean says:Are you going to remove the files or not yes or no?Ferdy & Chippi EB5DQH says:secondly...with threats you'll go anywherehello?Dean says:Remove my filesFerdy & Chippi EB5DQH says:ok...byeDean says:It is simple Ferdy, remove them or face criminal prosecutiomnFerdy & Chippi EB5DQH says:yes yesgood luckbyeDean says:you are obviously uneducated about the law
