April 11, 20197 yr Atlantic Beach Patrol Something a little different. A flight from Washington DC (KDCA) east over the Chesapeake Bay to Ocean City Maryland, then up along the mid Atlantic coast, past Cape May and the entrance to Delaware Bay to our second stop at Atlantic City New Jersey (KACY). Continuing north we fly past the Williams family summer beach vacation spot (Long Beach Island New Jersey) and on to La Guardia Airport (KLGA). Winds permitting we will fly the approach to runway 04 which will afford great views of the Manhattan skyline and East River. Leaving New York City we will head out to the tip of Long Island landing at East Hampton (KHTO). Departing Long Island we pass Montauk Point and Block Island on our way to Nantucket (KACK). From Nantucket we fly on to Provincetown (KPVC) on the tip of Cape Cod. The final leg takes us to Boston's Logan Airport (KBOS). The route is 523nm long so this is a good opportunity to fly a regional airliner such as the Q400, CRJ, NGX, or a vintage propliner such as the DC-6 or Connie or something more modern such as the King Air or Citation Mustang. As always you are free to fly what you like. April 12, 20197 yr I think that's 1800 UDT, Zulu or foreign muck, AKA 1900hrs BST more fondly known as Proper time. 👍 Just sayin' that's all. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
April 12, 20197 yr Author OK, I've updated the start 1800 UTC, that would be 1700 UDT, For me, that's 2pm EDT, For you Bert, I think that is 11am Pacific Daylight. I hope this is OK for everyone. Also, I added a pilots guide link for those who are interested. | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |
April 13, 20197 yr Just downloaded and installed the Demos for New York. If one doesn't have any improvements for that area I recommend those sceneries! Regards Gunter Schneider
April 13, 20197 yr Current conditions (Active Sky) indicate a "cloudy/foggy beach patrol" with some fun low visibility IFR landings. Two suggestions, depending on taste. The first is for a Spring day just last Saturday (with fine weather mainly but a little cloudy in the first legs).Saturday, April 6, 2019. 18:00 UTC. The second is for a mostly glorious Summer day last June.Saturday, June 16, 2018. 18:00 UTC. --Mike MacKuen
