I agree but that’s probably because the stuff used in the sim has been color corrected or processed to look better.

And all the atmospherics, aliasing, lighting, shadowing, etc.

The in game shots of these locations look worlds better than what's in Bing Earth View. Pretty cool how they are able to clean it all up so much despite being the same data source.

You are absolutely correct. Those are the Stansbury Mountains outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, with Desert Peak being the highest point.
