July 20, 20196 yr FYI -- accordng to an email from EVGA I received this morning, they will be releasing a 2080 "Super" in a week or two. According to their forum price is in the $699 range for their reference card level). Below picture is from the EVGA site (even though it is a picture of the 2070 Super) See https://www.evga.com/articles/01343/evga-rtx-super/ Edited July 20, 20196 yr by pgde Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

That's almost certainly true, but I didn't think that any actual tests of the 2080 Super had been released yet. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
July 21, 20196 yr Attached is my current system load and you can see the specs. I am running P3D, no weather addon at the moment, flying the PMDG 777. My P3D settings are turned up fairly high, but nothing crazy. Honesty, I think CPU has a greater impact on performance on FPS at the moment, but it may just be the way I have things configured. Is it worth going from the 8700 to 9900 considering price? Probably not at the moment, so it may be best to upgrade the video card and wait for the price drop that seems to be coming on the processors. July 21, 20196 yr I would recommend a 9700 if you are concerned about the price difference between the 8700 and the 9900. You get the same 8 cores and the performance on simulators (and games in general) is similar, if not better, on the 9700 because you get limited HT, which is not needed and may even be a problem in some cases. I could have afforded the 9900, but opted for the 9700 instead. July 21, 20196 yr JayzTwoCents has just posted a video on SLI and in his words don't waste your money having tested the latest AMD and Nvidia GPUs go for the best single card you can buy, Raymond Fry.
July 21, 20196 yr Check out Der Bauer latest video AMD fan boys giving him stick but then he explains how he makes manufactures take notice. There are some benchmarks appearing for the 2800 super. Edited July 21, 20196 yr by rjfry Raymond Fry.
