Also, I'd like to get some airliners, but not necessarily the super realistic ones where I will have to spend a ton of initial time reading/studying. Eventually. But for now any simpler go and fly now recommendations? yes get the global base and vector combo those only slightly impact frame rate. As for airliners I second the QW787, very fun to fly and easy learning curve. If you want to start smaller go with the Carenado Phenom 300. August 7, 20196 yr I'd also buy the A2A Bonanza if you have any desire to fly general aviation. the 787 is pretty good I own that one too but I'm more of a GA flyer. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 10, 20196 yr Author Thanks to everybody who pushed me from FS9 to P3DV4. I spent a ton of money buying everything from airports to airplanes and weather engines to shaders. But I'm loving it. I'll still have to decide down the road if an overclock is worth it. Right now I'm still running the stock 9700k with MCE. Other than that the biggest challenge right now is trying to get used to flying in a VC. I'm used to 2d cockpits. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
August 10, 20196 yr Commercial Member I've been able to get mine to just under 5Ghz without too many issues. It does 5.1Ghz with P3D but I've noticed that it hard-locks with Visual Studio 2019 (and only VS2019) so I'll need to track that down. Not sure if it's the raw block speed or my AVX offset being too small. Cheers! Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.
