August 16, 20196 yr Commercial Member The best are still Microsoft sidewinder 2 force feed back and fsforce software. Classified ads or ebay and you will find a few available. They last forever. August 16, 20196 yr Absolutely. Microsoft FF2 Joystick. Ebay is the only place to get them. I have bought several, just in case. You'll pay a premium price for them too. Wouldn't it be great if Microsoft would re-introduce another force feedback joystick when they release the new Microsoft Flight Simulator? Stan

The price then would be more reasonable than the premium prices on Ebay for really USED sticks! Hope you read this Microsoft. Stan ps. I've tried so many different sticks and I can't fly without the FF2. It feels soooo good when you hit the tarstrips taking off and hit the runway when you touch down. August 16, 20196 yr I have a MS Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback, but for years have not used it with force feedback enabled as in FSX the forces always acted too late to be of any use, and in fact were off-putting. Just horrible latency. You'd do something and expect a force, and then nothing, and then maybe a second or two after the force should have been apparent, it would come in too late at a point where there shouldn't be any force. Has this improved in P3D? If so, I'll dig out my power cable for the stick and try it out. Edited August 16, 20196 yr by SledDriver
August 16, 20196 yr Yeah I had one "back in the day" and it's probably buried deep in a closet as I've purchased no less than 3 different ones since then, am currently using the Thrustmaster Warthog setup which feels pretty decent but is somewhat pricy. I also can't say I was a big fan of the forces either- something about them didn't feel right. Mark Mark Trainer

There is a product called FS-Force - it is an essential add-on for proper/customizable force feedback in P3D/FSX-SE/FSX/FS9/FS8.

Looks very interesting. One review says there are problems using this with P3Dv4+. Can anyone comment on whether this is a problem?

I have been using it almost every day for hours at a time in P3D 4.5 HF for months (i.e. ever since 4.5 HF came out). I have been using FS Force since FSX and it just works. I have a flight from KORD to MKJS this very moment using FS Force with the FF2 and it is doing great.

August 17, 20196 yr Not installed this yet, but one question. Do I leave Force Feedback enabled within P3D when using FS Force?

It's software by Russell Dirks. It is absolutely essential for the Microsoft FF2 to work properly. I was on Dirk's beta team when he first introduced the software over a decade or more ago. It is the only way the FF2 joystick works properly. It is inexpensive but worth every penny. Stan
August 17, 20196 yr OK I have the trial installed and basically working and feels pretty good - definitely a keeper, but there are a couple of issues I need to sort before I buy it. 1) The Profile Manager 2 config prog doesn't spot my RealAir planes at all. I was able to select a prfile for a RealAir plane as P3D prompted me for one at startup of the sim. Is there a way if including these properly. I think this is because the RealAir planes are in ...documents...addons... etc, and not in the SimObjects folder of the sim. So it seems FS-Force isn't scanning that folder. Can this be changed? 2) I setup the profile for my plane with 2 joystick buttons to adjust trim up/down. This works perfect on the ground. But as soon as I get airborne the trim buttons dont work any more. Nada, nothing. As soon as I land, they work again. Anyone know why this is and how to fix it? I'm using a MS Sidewinder FF2 stick.
