August 23, 20196 yr The teasers show impressive landscapes but not yet the same landscape at different times of the year. Sat or aerial imageries in the visible spectrum are of course collected when the skies are almost cloudless, not exactly the normal average situation in most of the part of the world all year long. This is not only about snow but also about dry and wet seasons which transform the landscapes. Looking at the Australian pic in yesterday update for instance we see that GE shows a much drier ground and ground vegetation. Another example. A Washingtonian recently remarked on the OrbX forum that their Washington product for XP obviously comes from orthos shot during the very short dry season they have up there and that the normal lanscape is normally greener . Is there a way to "shade" seasons into ortho imagery ? Can the FS team pull that rabbit out of the hat ? Wouldn't be great if the FS20 team would give us some clues ? It would, it would 😃 ! August 23, 20196 yr Having shader based seasons would be a Biggie. Will they extended the shaders for ice/snow effects and precipitation buildup on the ground? It is possible, it's what xEnviro is doing. So, maybe...... http://youtube.com/c/Greazer
August 23, 20196 yr does xEnviro use shaders to put water on the ground? | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.

August 24, 20196 yr Commercial Member I would love to see MS use shaders or some form of tech to depict seasonal variations as well as dry/wet variations of the landscape. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

August 25, 20196 yr If adobo are developing parts of this, they’re recruiting environment artists with experience of applying shaders. Maybe this is how they’ll do seasonal changes. http://www.asobostudio.com/careers/environment-artist-189
August 25, 20196 yr Commercial Member Something like what X-Enviro is doing would be very important for MSFS to have as part of the platform. If the platform is going to have weather functionality, it has to have snow as a weather option and if it has snow as a weather option, it has to depict snow. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

Let's remember that OrbX has made the choice of not offering seasonal variations of their TE products. I certainly hope that MS which should have more technical expertise (AI etc.), will do better. I would welcome some hints of that in a future update. Well, as an aside TE Netherlands has seasons, at least in P3Dv4. As with sloped runways, MS will surely have to do seasons in the new sim. Otherwise, 1997 wants their sim back. :) Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

FS20 may be a game changer here, the team would have the technical expertise if they allocate enough resources to the issue.
