I want to remove x-plane airfields

Featured Replies

Hello,

As I am using only ortho scenery, I want to remove all x-plane airfields and airports as they don't match in very well.

Is there an easy way that this can be done please?

Thanks Phil

If you are talking about all the default airports, you can disable them by editing your scenery_packs.ini file and changing the beginning of the line that refers to the "Global Airports" from SCENERY_PACK to SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED.

However, that's not a great idea unless you only fly to bush strips with grass runways, because by disabling the airports you also lose the surfaces, lights, exlcusions for trees etc.

So, regarding ground model, you'd turn every airport into a dirt- or grass strip that's only visible in daylight.

Also, I'm pretty sure you'd lose all the ILSs.

Hello,

I've tried the  SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED thanks but unfortunately, it didn't make a difference.

I'm looking at buying the organizer, would you happen to know if I would be able to select only certain  items of scenery with this, for instance, I'd like to keep power-lines  and trees but not buildings, can this be done please?

Thanks again

Phil

Why don't you entirely remove X-Plane from your HD using X-Plane installer. That way, your other issue will vanish into thin air.

Remove all airfields, give me a break! What's wrong with people?

Thank you for your considered views, I'm sure you'll go a long way.

Have you never tried ortho at ZL19? Obviously not!

Yes I do. ZL 17/18/19 with full Autogen and ALL AIRFIELDS. Are you a flat earther? In that case I'd recommend you forward your request to either the Flat Earth Society (https://www.tfes.org) or the P3D Forum - a LOT of flat earthers there!

You can call me what you like, I simply prefer to see what is actually there in real life and not a lego model.

I can't understand why anyone using superb zl19 ortho would want to hide it with fake runways and worst of all fake autogen?

If that sort of thing floats your boat, good luck to you, enjoy!

The fake stuff is simply not for me. Why not let each other enjoy our sims in our own way?
