Release date

Recommended Posts

Historically with MSFS the release date predated the actual year on the title but never that same year, for example:

FS2004 release date 29 July 2003

FS2002 release date 19 October 2001

FS2000 release date late 1999

FS98 release date mid 1997

However Flight Simulator for Windows 95 was released mid 96

Therefore I wouldn't let the title FS2020 determine that it will be released in 2020, it could be 2019, or maybe 2021 🤣

2020 is not even in any official title though. And according to the promotional material, it is coming in 2020.

Even if these "leaked" release dates are correct and genuinely the planned release date, doesn't mean anything at this stage.  The reason companies don't provide release dates earlier on is because it is very hard to stick to them.  You never know what issues you will hit during development and anticipated release dates can be pushed back, or in some cases even bought forward.

So doesn't really matter if they get leaked, they don't mean much and that's why they are not officially announced.

A simple example is everyone asking for VR, that's additional work that they didn't plan on doing but are now apparently working on, that could easily push back the release date.

Sorry you missed the satire in that post, the little laughing emoji was the giveaway

They don't have a release date for Project Scarlet and the way the TSMC Fab is going with lead times  6 months push back due to demand, and they make the AMD parts as AMD no longer has there own FAB.
