October 21, 20196 yr Just re-checked and they are working but the condition levers have to be in the fully aft, feathered position. E.g. with the mouse I can only drag the condition levers to the min RPM position. You need a keypress (or joystick button) to reduce the prop RPM further to move them into feather.
October 21, 20196 yr Not sure that this is the way it is supposed to work. You should be able to do everything with the mouse only

You should be able to do everything with the mouse only It has been this way since day 1 of FSX/P3D. IRL there's usually some kind of gate or additional resistance which keeps you from unintenionally pulling the props below min into feather, so this can't happen with this restriction in FSX/P3D. Interestingly e.g. on the default King Air you can drag the propeller levers into feather in the 2D pop up panel, but you can't do that in the VC, so maybe it is indeed a bug. October 22, 20196 yr FDEdev I'm talking about the red levers for fuel cutoff. They should be working to cut off fuel. If you look at the xml coding iin the VC mdl file, it is designed to cuttoff fuel and fully feather the propellers. There is just a condition put on that that prevent from making it work properly. I changed coding and recompile. It seems to work now. Will test further tonight.

Actually the red levers should only 'unlock' the condition levers so that they can be moved to the feather and further aft to the cut off position. Presently the propellers can only be moved with the mouse to the min RPM position which is as IRL. With a key or button you can move them further aft into feather, and once in feather, clicking on the red backstop release levers moves the condition lever further aft to cut off.
October 22, 20196 yr Sorry to insist but the coding in the mdl file make the red levers cutoff the fuel AND feather the propeller. It works together. You don't need a key or button to move them
October 22, 20196 yr Don't know anything about the coding, I'm only mentioning how it works IRL and what's happening on my v1.2. I definitely can't move the condition levers below min RPM with the mouse and I can cycle the backstop release levers only with the mouse. Since there are no separate propeller levers on the EMB120, the condition and propeller levers need to by tied together in the sim. Edited October 22, 20196 yr by FDEdev
October 22, 20196 yr "gpxe" how come in version 1.1 you can move condition levers in MIN and then clcik with the mouse and move them to SHUT POSITION and in version 1.2 you can not? it supose to have the same MDLFile.
October 22, 20196 yr Go to around the 12 minute mark in this video as to what he has to say about the fuel cutoff and prop levers during engine start.
October 22, 20196 yr Thanks for this C130SE. I don't know which verrsion is used there, because in 1.2 the red levers do not go up and down but move forward and backward. Sorry I made a wrong statement.. I'm only talking about v1.2 and I totally agree with FDEdev. To go to full fuel cutoff, you have to feather the propellers with a mouse to min RPM (position known as 0%), then use a keystroke or clickspot (which had been introduced in v1.1, but seems to have disappeared in v1.2) to feather more (position known as -20%), and then use the red levers to go further down to full fuel cutoff (position knwon as -25%). My point was to change the behaviour of taht to eliminate the need of keystroke / clickspot, thus feathering to the 0% position with the mouse, and then directly use the red levers to go to full fuel cut-off at -25% To achieve that, i changed the code in the xml of the mdl file, so that it now reads : <PartInfo> <Name>custom_rec_LEVER_PROP_PITCH2_B120_SHUTOFF_273</Name> <MouseRect> <Cursor>Hand</Cursor> <TooltipText>Engine 2 shutoff (%((L:LEVER_PROP_PITCH2_B120_SHUTOFF,bool) 0 ==)%{if}On%{else}Off%{end})</TooltipText> <CallbackCode> (A:GENERAL ENG PROPELLER LEVER POSITION:2,percent) (>L:PROP_LEV_POS_TEMP2,number) (L:LEVER_PROP_PITCH2_B120_SHUTOFF,number) 0 == (L:PROP_LEV_POS_TEMP2,number) 0 == and if{ 1 (>L:LEVER_PROP_PITCH2_B120_SHUTOFF,number) 1 (>L:BUFFER_CLICK1_PLASTIC1,number) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_HI) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (>K:PROP_PITCH2_DECR) (look for "Engine 2 shut" to find the reference point in the xml file. You export from mcx and then happy flying. It might not be perfectly as in real life, but using keystrokes is not either real. G. Edited October 22, 20196 yr by gpxe

Quite a few incorrect items in this video. E.g. the red levers are not the fuel valves! They are only there to unlock the condition levers. Furthermore you don't unfeather the propellers during engine start. Unfortunately there's still a bug in 1.2. Clicking on the red backstop release lever moves the condition levers from cut off to the feather position, but there will still not be any fuel flow, hence the engine will not start. You have to manually advance the condition levers even more, but although the the tooltips says 'feathered' the propeller incorrectly unfeathers.
October 23, 20196 yr That's a nice idea, thanx 🙂 but I'm at least another week away from my PC. I do hope that Carenado is already working on v1.3 which should fix this issue as well.

October 29, 20196 yr Why shouldn't they? All other Alabeo/Carenado aircraft are available at simmarket as well. I always buy from the developer if possible to support them.
