They've added a sharpening feature to the control panel... all I can say is WOW! my sim has absolutely never looked better!

How does this play with other settings like the AA in P3D and FXAA and other AA settings in the P3D NV profile?

Could you give a few details, how is it accessed, what needs to be done, references etc etc. Maybe some comparison shots

No problem here with the latest driver 441.08 itself although I prefer not to have the image sharpening box ticked. Seems to mess with the cloud and mist levels a bit.

I did not do extensive testing though, but the previous (unticked) setting seems to do a better blend of weather, mist and ground textures.

Kindest regards,

Nvidia's Image Sharpening (IS) has no correlation with FXAA or any other AA settings... in the Nvidia Control Panel (and/or Nvidia Inspector) or the sim.  IS is just a filter added to frames.  It's simple and there is little to no (performance) cost.  Before using the Nvidia IS you should check your Sammy TV for a "Sharpening" setting and start there, then fine tune (for the sim specifically) using the Image Sharpening tweak of the Prepar3d profile in Nvidia Control Panel.  I already had my monitor's sharpening set, so when I tried the IS setting of the new drivers I ended up reducing the sharpening and ignore film grain.  Of course, YMMV... it's all subjective based upon what each of us wants.

HTH,

Thanks Greg! I have set the sharpening on my TV but I can’t remember exactly what it’s set to. I’m out of town right now but I’ll try it all out when I’m home. Excellent advice as always.
