November 4, 20196 yr I like to fly CAVU and have my custom weather set to Cirrus with bases at 30,000ft and tops at 39000ft just to give some texture to the sky when I fly. That is the only layer I have enabled in the custom weather setting. But I keep getting random Cumulus clouds at various altitudes. Normally I don't mind them, but when I am flying at higher altitudes in the mountains I hate see random Cu sitting on the ground and most especially sitting on a runway when I am about to take off or land. These popcorn Cu are formed by rising warm air and can never be formed on the surface. Totally 'unreal as it gets'. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
November 4, 20196 yr What sim and what weather are you using, Noel? Custom weather within the default sim or a custom weather engine? Not sure if i can help, just asking for details in case other members can help. November 5, 20196 yr Are these possibly "Swarm Clouds" in FSX Shaders FSX root folder \FSX\ShadersHLSL\misc There is a fix for these errant "Swarm Clouds" popcorn clouds that flicker in and out of cirrus layers. https://www.simforums.com/Forums/how-to-get-rid-of-annoying-flashing-clouds_topic24830.html I haven't found a fix yet for those massive atmospheric Cumulus clouds sitting on the ground at higher altitude locations. Cheers Jethro
November 5, 20196 yr Random isolated clouds used to annoy me as I run P3D with totally clear skies. I have not seem them in some time, so I must have done something to get rid of them. I just can't remember what I did.... November 5, 20196 yr If you don't set weather rate of change to zero, random clouds will start to pop up after a few minutes of flying.
