An issue I never thought I'd have :)

Recommended Posts

Until now it was simple, I knew how to fly any GA aircraft of my sim in a realistic way (Cold and dark startups etc...) But if I wanted to do the same with a complex jet, I had to buy one and learn how to do it for that particular aircraft. At least that is how I do it, I prefer to master 1 or 2 complex aircrafts maximum and stick with them for all my long flights.

Problem is with MSFS, all the default jets will have almost all the systems simulated which means we will have to learn a ton of checklists and different FMC's if we want to make at least one flight with at least each one of the default aircrafts!

I should add I am not lucky, the only jets I master are the MD-11 (PMDG) and 737-800 (Zibo) so I will have to learn from scratch every system for the A320, CJ4 and 748... don't even know where to start...

Anyone else in the same situation?

Where does it say that all the add-on aircraft will be as high fidelity as A2A or PMDG?

A pilot is always learning and I LOVE to learn.

For the default aircraft at least, there will be interactive/automated checklists, like Microsoft Flight, which should make learning them easier.

I don't remember every word but they basically said all aircrafts will get in-depth systems so we don't have to buy anything else to have a complete experience.

You can understand what you want from that...

I would be careful on expecting all the aircrafts (especially the airlines) to be fully detailed. I expect more of a middle ground like XP11 default planes are (FMC with SID/STARS and all that but still some limitations).

To answer you, no i won't have difficulties because in the end the different FMCs are somewhat similar in what they do and the type of data you need to put into them. I think, if anything, the most "complex" thing to understand is the difference way of design of Airbus and Boeing cockpits and autopilot functions

haha I had a feeling they'd give Lionel a hard time about his celebrity status.
They're still understandably mum on the mandatory subscription but they did say they know we're used to things being a certain way and they want to do right by us. Take from that what you will.

Just marketing bla bla bla... For sure it will be simple aircraft and complex ones altogether. Nothing significant to be worried about.

Hmmm... I very much doubt "in depth" means the same to Asobo as it does to PMDG (etc).

Bla bla bla from Asobo? I see it the other way, we are on the bla bla bla side, they have blown away the entire simming word from the beginning. Aren't we taking Asobo too lightly ?

They repetedly said they want every aspect of the sim to be perfect out of the box, so I highly doubt aircraft authenticity and realism is that low on their list...

The aircraft can be authentic and realistic, without being a "study sim" to PMDG level.

But, Noooch, what does it change ? You can choose to fly only one jet, the Citation, Neo or 747, learn its intricacies and let the two other ones on the side for the future.

Also I understand there will be some kind of optional aid, buttons or levers blinking during a checklist.

And even if, it`s not that difficult to fly a "complex" aircraft.

Basically you can get an A320 in the air from cold and dark with only 7 buttons to press. No need to do complex fmc programming.

It kinda changes because now I will have them ready to fly in my hangar!

I just can't let them on the side 🙂 Maybe if i would have owned one of the 3 jets before I would just stick with it...

Like the title says, I never thought I would have this problem ;))
