I personally mostly fly in Switzerland

Switzerland or mountainous areas in general are really a feast for photgrammetry. That few areas that exist in Google Earth are just perfect. The rock formations and colorations are correct down to human level.

It is really a shame that the technology is used so sparingly.

Maybe there are other "techniques" that can be implementet to deliver the rest with 3D like:

This demo is based on Photogrammetry / LIDAR data as far as I can see?

Yes I verified and it is. So this is the same techniques as the one MS uses.

Google Earth has thousands of 3D Photogrammetry cities, but of course google is a separate company to Microsoft, and so maybe at some stage in the future Microsoft may want to think about buying in this other data? 🙄

I heard MS and Google became somehow friends when it comes to Mobile. So perhaps their friendship will extend to have shared data of many types, including the maps 😉

hopefully, they can add also some major cities from Asia like Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc for some reason all are not 3d on bing maps  just on google maps
