GSX and ORBX airports?

Featured Replies

Worked for me at mbs. However the dynamic lighting didn’t.

Why wouldn't they work? If scenery has Ctrl+J jetways then you can get rid of those with GSX. If it has SODE jetways then GSX has no problem controlling those. GSX will even activate SODE VDGS if stand has been selected with GSX.

@micstatic GSX has nothing to do with lighting. Must be something wrong with the scenery or you might have the option unchecked from scenery control panel.

It may work, it may not, it depdends how GSX is feeling

Such as if GSX's baggage carts tractor decides to go skating and slip sliding around parked aircraft and crashing into engine nacelles🤣

If you are referring to the problem that happened only on arrival, it has been fixed in the Dec. 5th update.

This is not just on arrivals. This is on pre-flights with FSL aircraft.

Add to that the fuel truck crashing through the rear stairway when called to refuel a CS757🤣

In this case, that's not a GSX bug, of course, but not having set up a sensible starting position for them in the GSX customization that would work accordingly with the Stop position of the airplane on that parking, which can of course be customized as well.

Obviously, GSX could "cheat" and prevent all of this, by simply letting vehicles appear straight on the side of the airplane door, so it could simply move the vehicle in a straight line but that's not realistic at all, since while this would "fix" vehicles taking strange paths when you don't configure the vehicle starting position, it will cause vehicles conflicting with the scenery instead, since they would start in random position depending on your airplane doors and your parking position.

So no, the one and proper way to have everything working, is with properly made configuration profiles, so both the vehicles starting position and the airplane stop position will be all in sensible places, making the vehicle path not doing strange things.

It surely doesn't, provided one knows how GSX should be used, which means:

- configuring the refueling point correctly

AND/OR

- knowing what it means using the Auto-servicing option, since if you don't use it, you prevent such conflict by calling the refueling when stairs are not there.

As explained, so many times, GSX vehicles are not really aware of each other paths in realtime. Doing that would cause:

1) A big strain on the simulator itself, since each vehicle should broadcast its position to all the others, at 30 fps, spamming Simconnect with commands and distrupting the whole simulation.

2) A whole new class of problems, like traffic deadlocks on the apron, with vehicles yelding to each other.

Do we have FULLY AUTONOMOUS CARS that work without any problems ? No, we don't, and Tesla and all the others have spent *YEARS* of research, *milions* of budget, *thousands* of developers ( 60% of Tesla empolyess are software developers ) a dedicated hardware more powerful than a PC GPU, yet they are still not allowed to drive by themselves, especially in traffic and/or cramped areas, just on well signaled highways.

THAT'S the kind of the problem you are asking GSX (as a flight sim add-on), should be suppposed to solve to be 100% "bug-fixed" in the pathfinding department.

THAT'S why  you must accept you should:

- Know how it works and the limitations

- Know how to fix them, by customizing or calling the services in a certain order to prevent conflicts.
