February 29, 20206 yr Hello all, I am trying to use the menu bar/RXP/setup aircraft to configure the GTN750 into thCarenado DA62 Try as I may, I can only get it to install into the MFD and not the PFD. It actually installs into the MFD beautifully and is fully functional. It is however, in the wrong place. I can also install it as a Popup and that is very simple, However, I am looking to have a full and permanent installation into the normal position (PFD) Could someone possibly point to where I am going wrong.? February 29, 20206 yr Hi Tony, I'm not sure to understand exactly. I suppose you are using the Panel Assistant "replace gauge" feature isn't it? If so, does it fail modifying the panel.cfg file when you've selected the PFD gauge? Or, you can't replace the PFD gauge because it is not in the list of gauge candidates? Is this more or less the integration you're looking for in the DA62 and if so, what would be the advantage replacing the PFD instead of the MFD? Edited February 29, 20206 yr by RXP
March 1, 20206 yr I do not have this airplane.. but the GTN would not be a PFD replacement.. surely.. If you can get it into the MFD, that is about as good as one could hope for IMHO.. Bert
March 1, 20206 yr Author Hi Guys, Firstly let apologise yet again. Apparentl;y the powers that be have decided that only two power fails for yesterday, was insufficient and so then our favourite internet provider(Government run) Telkom inflicted an internet failure on us at approx 7 PM last night. It has only just been restored about two hours ago. Back on track. Bert, It may well be me. I am talking about it installing to the first display not the second display, which is where I would expect it to install to. I thought the MFD was the display on the left and the PFD on the right. Jean-Luc, I can replace the gauge using "Replace Gauges with Reality XP GTN (auto detect)" then Continue. This gives me three options 1. G1000_PFD Window 00 DA62_G1000_G1000_PFDDA62PFD .... Select 2. G1000_MFD Window01 DA62__G1000 G1000_MFDDA62 ..... Select 3. VCockpit01 DA62_G1000 G1000_PFDDA62VC .... Select I have selected each of these individually and after selecting the first option (GTN750) the reset gives me a normal vc display ie, It appears as if nothing has happened. I then restore the gauges and exit P3D. Back into P3d and select the second option and exactly the same happens. I restore all my gauges and exit P3D. Back into P3D and select option 3 and again the same thing happens. I then restored all gauges repeated the shut don and re-entry into P3D and seleted all three options ith GTN750 (no Bezel). That is hen I get a GTN750 (no bezel)in the Left hand display. I have a screenshot of it which I can email to you should you require it. It is fully funtional, but, it is in the wrong display. It is also the only method that I can find, to get a display embedded in the panel. Please note that configuring a popup panel is no problem, and that too is fully functional. Again, apologies for the delay in response, but I hope this helps. By the way, RealAir B60 turbo and the Carenados 100 and 300 are working perfectly. The only aircraft that I have configured so far. March 1, 20206 yr Unfortunately, replacing a G1000 display by a GTN 750 display is not a one for one substitution, but rather a custom coding job.. The G1000 MFD (the one on the right) also has the engine display which you want to keep.. and the autopilot is coded to expect a G1000, not a GTN, so that needs to be adapted etc.. That is why various users have published their custom modifications Edited March 1, 20206 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
March 4, 20206 yr Tony, The DA62 mod I sent you has a set of panel.cfg files preconfigured for the RXP GTN. Do not use the RXP configuration for specifying the location. That is already done in the included panel.cfg options, and has been tested by RXP users. Let me know if you need any help. March 4, 20206 yr Author Jorge, Many apologies for the lack of a response. Two days ago a power failure (one of many) took out my Win 10 (corrupted Config files) and would not start up. For the last two days I have been reinstalling Windows, antivirus and all the othr goodly addons that go with a reinstall of Windows (incuding updates) Of course, in addition to that P3D automatically wiped me off its records for two days because I did not uninstall P3d/Windows correctly. Subsequently I have uninstalled P3D and reinstalled on a reformatted SSD. Once that gets validation, I will be reloading all my P3D add-ons, Including all my aircraft, utilities and sceneries. I anticipate not being up and fully running for another couple of days yet. For those of you who are unaware, I suffer from 1 to 4 power failures on an almost daily basis. Internet, (based in another town13 KM away) is obviously affected with their own power (different grid) and equipment failures as well. It has been at least 5 months since I had all utilities (power, water, internet etc) at the same time and for a period of 24 hours with out interuptions. All in all, not the most satisfactory conditions for any flight sim platform. So, mate, I shall get back to you as soon as I possibly can and thank you so much for your patience.
