Why do flight sims ask for permission from aircraft builders  before they include them AKA Boeing, Airbus

I think some people are not understanding that this is a new ruling.  If this stands, it is like the law has suddenly changed  So talking about they way things were, is like talking about an old law that was changed.

Indeed. It sets the most recent case-law, which is important and essentially is the standard. That being said, there are always appeals so it may not be done.

Even SCS has eschewed using real names and logos in Euro Truck Sim or American Truck Sim.

Walmart is Walbert, et cetera. That said however, in just a few short days, freeware "modders" have released files that replace the default names and logos to reflect the real names and logos...

...just as freeware devs step up to the plate and update flight sim programs.
