October 15, 200619 yr I read in a post somewhere that UT Landclass can be used in FSX9. Can someone enlighten me on how to do this? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.

October 15, 200619 yr Any conflict issues with roads and rivers? (Curious before I try to reinstall it with FSX)-Greg
October 15, 200619 yr I guess maybe I misunderstood.I was just looking for the Landclass in UT.If I add the UT folder won't I have conflicting scenery in FSX?I read where coastlines and other things don't line up properly. Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
October 15, 200619 yr 1. Create a new folder somewhere on your system and name it UTUSA_LC2. Within that folder, create a subfolder named Scenery3. Copy all of the LC*.bgl files from your Ultimate Terrain USA Scenery folder to the newly created UTUSA_LCScenery folder4. Start FSX and use the Scenery Library to add the UTUSA_LC scenery itemRepeat these steps for Ultimate Terrain Canada and Europe if you have those installed and want to use them in FSX.While the landclass mapping between FS9 and FSX isn't perfect and there are still some patches of textures that look out of place, the UT landclass is still a significant improvement over the stock FSX landclass in my opinion.
October 15, 200619 yr Wait a minute. I read that FSX has many more ground texture types. Yes, I can see UT mapping equivalent textures, but in a limited way, since it would only be using as many textures as FS9. Yes, they would be better looking (the ones used), but you would lose having the full pallete of textures available in FSX.That being said. It STILL may be better than the sterile, lifeless, landclass often seen in FSX. In fact, I see this as the #1 help that FSX needs ... really good landclass.I'd be interested in reports.
October 15, 200619 yr Yes, you're right. It's not a perfect solution by any means. Even so, in my opinion the UT landclass is significantly better than the stock FSX landclass in the areas I spend most of my FS time in. I have no doubt that improved FSX-specific landclass will be released at some point but, until then, I'll continue to use the FS9 UT landclass, warts and all.
October 15, 200619 yr I just used it in Hawaii with Riamondo's(sp?)10 mesh and ot looks good.Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
