Prepar3D V5 compatibility

Recommended Posts

Hi and sorry to bother you.

I am tempted to take advantage of the current offer to finally make the switch from "the other GTN" to RXP.

But with P3DV5 jus announced, I wanted to know if anything had been annouced regarding future compatibility with V5.

I do not want to buy the GTN right now just to be unable to use it in a couple of months.

Best regards.

Thanks for chiming in Rob,

(And by the way thanks for your great P3D V5 videos :) )

Just to be clear, I do understand these update take a bit of time. I don't know when I'll move to P3D V5 (but I'm pretty sure I will at some point). So I just want to make sure that if I buy today, WHEN an update is released I will be entitled to use it in V5.

If it's not the case, I'll wait a bit before considering a purchase.

Charles .

Hi,

I've posted a note about this, and more, yesterday:

@Rob_Ainscough thank you for the heads up!

I don't expect any difficulty with the 'graphics' side of things but more in what would prevent the implementation of some of the product capabilities which are doable only in hacking the inner working of the simulator because the SDK is lacking (for example overriding the simvars).

Looking forward to the P3Dv5 update @RXP. Staring at a blank Emuteq GNS screen, but will get over it. 😄

When will the down load be updated to show option for V5.  Now still shows only V4 and will not install in V5.

There is a small unexpected delay because LM has also released v4.5 Hotfix 3... which is now also supported in the upcoming update.

Stay tuned, we're making the flight tests for validation prior release.

Where can I get the new version?

I have the old F1 purchase module and I don't want to install without knowing if I get the right version. RXP website doesn't give you the option of downloads, either that or I'm lost.

I want to start fresh with P3DV5 and I want to make sure everything goes right.

Thanks guys

Another user here with a suggestion.  Start your current simulator.  Load an aircraft in which you have configured your licensed Reality XP gps gauge(s).  Shift-right-click on the upper border of that gauge.  If that does not bring up the settings menu then use the popup gauge with the same click.  Scroll to the bottom of the settings windows that appears and click check for updates.  If a more recent release is available it will advise you and allow the download.

BTW, this is in the RXP User Guide.  Click on the Windows Start menu, scroll down the RXP under the R section.  Then click the User Guide to open it.  It is there to help...
