Realair Turbine Duke V2 autopilot

Featured Replies

I just reinstalled one of my favorite of RealAir's planes the Turbine Duke V2 I remember when I bought those Dukes I am having a problem with the autopilot though it's not letting me select the altitude to put in the altitude.  I got it working can't wait to fly this plane to 3000 hours this year

What about it is not working?  Look in the RealAir sub folder in your sim (not in SimObjects/airplanes). Then go into the Autoplay folder, then into Docs.  There you should find a pdf file named "KFC 255 Autopilot.pdf".  It is a two page detailed guide to the autopilot.

I believe you first dial in your target altitude with the inner and outer knobs. Then click the VS key and set your intended vertical speed with the Up and Down keys.  Do not do anything else at this point.  When airborne, click the AP button to activate AP.  Then when ready, press the ARM button.  You will see the AP display enunciate VS over ALT and next to ALT you should see ARM in vertical letters.

If you are flying by hand and wish to lock in the altitude you are currently at, just make sure you have the AP activated and press the ALT button.

Since you’ve added this question I’m closing your other topic.

Just keep adding all your Duke questions to this topic rather than starting new posts on the same plane.

If you want I can change the title of this topic to “Many RealAir Turbine Duke Questions”.

Are you moving your eyepoint while in the cockpit?  Mainly forward and backward.  This may cause the clickspots not to respond.

Thanks

Some Turbine Duke users have apparently had problems with the click spots if 3D landing lights were enabled in the config app. You could try disabling this and see if it fixes your problem.

See if this helps?  This is a sheet I developed for my own use.  It is based on performance charts translated to actual performance that I recorded during a number of flights.  From that I constructed this kneeboard sheet.  The cruise settings are highly similar at all altitudes for IAS.  The TAS speed you will attain is what varies.
