April 22, 20206 yr I wanted to ask this since very long time. Virtual cockpit zoom level seem to be fixed at 100% or less (10% steps) or 150% or more (50 or 100% steps). I would like to try a VC zoom level of 120 or 130% is this somehow possible? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
April 22, 20206 yr Moderator Not at my flight system so I cannot check but I'd start by looking at the cameras.cfg fle for the VC definition. Possibly you can adjust the zoom level there. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 22, 20206 yr Author Good idea. Unfortunately it don't see any entries which would allow this? April 22, 20206 yr There are a lot of options for camera definitions in the SDK here: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv5/sdk/cameras/camera_configuration.html But I don't see one that adjusts the rate of zoom with the keyboard commands. That said, the initial zoom on your VC is 0.3. If you're thinking of that as 30% and you want to try 130%? You could change the initial zoom to 1.3, but I think that might make the VC unusable (too zoomed in). But...you could experiment with the initial zoom in tighter increments to try and find what you're looking for. You can make the change to the file and then use, I believe Shift-F10 to reload the aircraft and try? If you don't have that setup by default, you can assign a keyboard command to "Reload User Object" in the controls menu. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
April 22, 20206 yr There are default key commands that will increase/decrease the zoom in smaller increments. I changed mine so I'm not sure what the default is. If you look in the controls tab I think it's labeled "Selection Increase (slightly)" or something to that affect. This will zoom at a consistent 1% step. Sorry, I'm not at my Sim. I can check later if you hadn't figured it out.
