What's wrong with it?

Cons:
1) Poor performance
2) Terrible flight dynamics (it feels like a leaf being blown side to side so floaty and uncontrollable)
3) Trim setting at takeoff is broken since launch, it’ll take a nosedive without intervention
4) Lighting is based on old default fsx logic (panel lights don’t turn on until “magic hour”)
5) Absurd pricing scheme for other engine variants and freighter version
6) They charge extra for the remote cdu and from what I’ve heard it’s not very good

Pros:
1) Sounds are decent, not amazing but better than many addons
2) For cockpit builders the plane has a very detailed and well documented SDK for controlling every single button
3) External model is quite good
4) Weight and payload controlled in FMC

For me the cons are enough to keep this plane in the hangar. It’s just not very fun to fly. I’d rather fly the maddog.

There are some things which are a bit iffy with it, but on the whole I'd agree with you and say it was okay and in many respects it is quite a nice thing. It certainly it has a lot of nice visual whistles and bells up its sleeve on the exterior model. I think it flies pretty well too, but the trouble is, it seems lots of people's default position is to slag off Captain Sim at every opportunity and I think that's what you are up against when you say that you like it. At the end of the day, if you like it and are pleased with it, then that is all which matters. I'm with you incidentally, I quite like it too, and I'm not even as big a fan of the real aeroplane as some people appear to be.

If I had to list what I personally feel could be improved with the CS 757, I'd say the flight model could be a little bit better in some respects. It's not terrible, in fact it is pretty much on the money as far as take off performance is concerned and more so than quite a lot of other add-on airliners (that is in fact why, out of quite a lot of airliners I have to choose from, I used the CS 757 for my youtube channel video about the 50/70 take off rule, since it actually gets pretty close to using the amount of runway a real 757 would use).

But its handling is definitely a bit more ponderous than the real thing once it is in the air. The real 757 is a pretty sporty aeroplane, being quite overpowered and as a result very maneuverable for a transport category aeroplane thanks to that massively favourable power to weight ratio. Now to be fair, that doesn't really matter too much for normal flying because most of the time you'd be using the autopilot, so the fact that the real thing can actually be 'chucked about a bit' is not something which would be done that often in real life and most people are not in a position to know that anyway, so it's a bit of a moot point. Yet having said that, I do think it is quite nice to hand-fly, especially on landings (it sideslips nicely, in a believable fashion for example), which is why I think it's more fun to play with than many people would have you believe.

The textures are a bit on the ropey side in the cockpit for something which costs 75 quid; yes the 757 is getting on a bit, so the cockpits on the real things are a little bit worn, but I think the worn and tatty appearance is a bit overdone in the VC, so they could stand a bit of tarting up in my personal opinion. But at the end of the day, they do the job.

Externally, the real things do show their age a bit in real life, with plenty of dents and scrapes in evidence on them. Now in fairness, much of that can be conveyed with repaints, but by default, the thing looks like a prototype brand-new airliner on its first ever roll-out from the factory, when in reality, the last brand-new 757 came off the production line 16 years ago, so most of them do look a bit grubby externally when you get up close to them and I think the texturing, even on the default CS liveries, could perhaps reflect this a bit on common parts such as the landing gear and jet pipes etc, to make the task of creating a convincing repaint a bit easier to achieve.

I didn't pay full wack for it when I bought it, since unlike a lot of people, I'm not the world's biggest fan of the 757, but if I was a big fan of the type, I think I'd have been fairly happy with the 75 quid price tag and would say that is a fair amount for it. I know it's a good aeroplane in real life, but I'm a bit biased because I have to work on them for real and they can be a bit of a b@llache to work on compared to some other aircraft lol.

I'm less convinced by all that add-on variants pricing which CS insist on indulging in. Not only is it confusing, but it's somewhat reminiscent of what Ariane Designs indulge in, and not in a good way. Compare that to - for example - the Quality Wings 787 Dreamliner, where you not only got several variants in the original product package, but they even patched it later on and added another variant to the package, for no additional cost.

I think this is where a lot of the vitriol against Captain Sim stems from, and unfortunately it spills over into people slating their products, somewhat unfairly a lot of the time, when what they really should be having a pop at is the preposterous pricing structure they insist upon. The most obvious clue as to this being the real issue, is the fact that most people happily pick up their products when there is a sale on. And I mean a real sale, not that '99 Dollars discount' b*ll*cks they are currently trying on with their 767 product page. Even I will slag them off for doing that.

Not true. My main gripe with this airplane is exactly point #4. You need to wait until that #$%#$ magic hour to arrive in order for the lights to work. Unacceptable for such an expensive add-on. I did a few mods with FSLSpotlights that allow me to survive in it, but its unacceptable.

I can confirm 1 & 4 weren't fixed.

Since I'm no 757 expert I cannot comment on the other points.
