Testing v5 with GSX and Aerosoft A318, A319

Featured Replies

I have a clean machine, which now has F3Dv5 utLive and EditVoicePack on there.  Touch wood, they are working well.

I'm wondering what to test next; I only use Aerosoft Airbus aircraft, but I can't test that with P3Dv5 (not released). So without Aerosoft aircraft, what aircraft do I use to test GSX if I installed that first (it's already available).  One of the built-in planes would be best

Has anyone test GSX on P3Dv5 with handles aircraft that aren't too small to get a message saying that the ATS on such small aircraft?

I have to be honest here, I don't believe that P3Dv5 was ready for prime time when it was released and I still don't believe it's ready for prime time post Hot Fix 1.  But I know the LM team is working hard on it.

We are still working hard to get the Airbus Pro (in testing and evaluation as I write this) and CRJ Pro out for P3Dv5 I also know many other excellent developers are working on their products for P3Dv5 as well.

Now, I still have P3Dv4.5HF3 installed and that is what I run for my online flights.  I can't see any other way to do things unless one is a General Aviation type flight simmer.

My very best wishes to you and your family Gary, I trust you and they are doing well.

Before I rebuilt and reinstalled after HF1, I had both v4.5 and v5 on my machine and, as a result, was able to test the Aerosoft A330, DC-8 and the Coolsky DC-9.  GSX worked as in v4.5 for all three of those.  As far as default aircraft, maybe the L049 or the C130 (haven't tried either of those)?

I also use the Jeehell FMGS for the A320 which has been made v5 compatible and uses the Project Airbus A320 models, which work including with GSX in v5.

I still have 4.5 installed for flying and V5 on another SSD just for testing while the addons are being worked on, and don't believe in throwing things in.

Do you still have FSX somewhere ? If yes, just copy and paste the default A321, B737 and CRJ-700 from FSX into the P3D V5 Simobjects\Airplanes folder, they work just fine and are a good test to check GSX.

Thanks! It's good to know where I am with this. I got the same advice from you - keep calm!

No, unfortunately totally 'cleaned' the machine. All my fault, though - I should have bought more chocolate and watched a whole season of Star Trek!

Quick question - I seem to have GSX working, but I've not installed anything but gsx_p3d4_setup.exe. It completely works for what I thought would be GSX & GSX2.

Because I've only used that one file,, how do I know that both GSX & GSX2 have worked?  I have no large aircraft to test this out with...

Hi Gary,

I would have looked at the add-ons menu to see if GSX menu items Addon Manager and Couatl) are present.

This would be an indication.

Yes, there's only one installer for P3D 4 and 5, and it includes GSX + GSX L2 ( the files are all there, the functions will change depending on your license ). The easiest way to know if GSX L2 is working normally, without having an airplane to test, is look at the default jetways, which have been replaced by GSX.

In any case, you can surely test all features using the included Lockheed Constellation.

I will check it out when I get airliner.  I'm sure at one point I read that things like passengers weren't seen boarding if GSX2 was not installed.  I need a big jet for it to use the stairways I guess!  But if what you're saying is right, then that one installer for both apps is fine.

I've actually pointed my P3DV5 to the Aerosoft A320 folder and functionally with flight systems and fms seems to have no issues. I did a complete flight start to finish in V5.

The issues I mainly see are the reallight and trueglass being incompatible for the moment and the tablet not working (though I never used this and would really like an option that removes this as I have a real tablet for charts).

I uninstalled v4 before v5, so that won't help.

I just need a free (or cheap and easy) aircraft I can use which will work with GSX2.
