C47 Aircraft repaint not available in the list

Featured Replies

Hello,
I have installed 3 repaints for the Manfred jahn's c47" vintage aircraft,
Then, I have downloaded from Avsim Library 3 aircraft repaints presented as P3D v4.5 compatible.
I have, as usual, copied the folders in the SimObjects/Aircraft folder
And I did update the aircrafgt.cfg as I use to do.

When P3D v4.5 is running, I want the select one of these repaints and none is visible.
Can someone help me resolving this issue?
Thanks in advance
Bruno

Check that you have done the following:

Entered a new Aircraft Config file entry for the new texture and given it a unique new sequential number, with a unique Title, unique UI identity/variation, and pointed it to the Texture you want it to use.

It is easy to forget one of these steps, or forget to change a line in the new entry.

The easiest little mistake to make is to miss the first [ from the aircraft.cfg file entry. Anything after that is no longer seen by the simulator.

Big ones to keep the C-47 from showing..
1) Missing parts or duplicate numbers of the [fltsim.#] headers

The C-47 development was long ( and it shows 👍 ), so during the interim there were new paints uploaded during different version releases.
A lot of these paints are pointing to older airfile names / model folders in the aircraft.cfg
2) Make sure this entry: sim=<airfile name> is pointing to the proper airfile name. Ex. my install, yours could have a different airfile --> sim=Douglas_DC3_v1.5
3) Make sure this entry: model=<model folder> is pointing to "an existing" model folder. Ex. my install, just one of the many possible, different entries --> model=C47_2

Does P3D still have a tick box for 'show all variants'?

Thanks to all of you for your replies.

I did a checklist with your recommendations and could correct some mistakes

  • new Aircraft Config file entry     OK
  • unique new sequential number  OK
  • unique Title                                OK
  • unique UI identity/variation,     OK
  • pointed it to the Texture Iwant it to use.     OK
  • miss the first [             Checked OK
  • Missing parts or duplicate numbers of the [fltsim.#]       Checked OK
  • sim=<airfile name>      Checked and corrected   OK
  • model=<model folder> is pointing to "a" model folder      Checked OK

After these correction, I have increase the number of aircraft available but :

  • [fltsim#2] is not visible (title=Douglas C-47 Armee de lAir GT 3/62 Sahara
  • [fltsim#3] is not showing the interior and external texture (aircraft black and interior black.

I am attaching the aircraft.cfg below (only fltsim paragraphs)

Thanks in advance

Bruno
