FFTF Dynamic for HF2?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've always been interested in this product but figured it wouldn't help me in my situation. Perhaps I was wrong?

I run at unlimited FPS with VYSNC and TB on (monitor set to 30 Hz).There are times at heavy airports like EGLL and KLAX when on approach my frames will dip into the 20s, largely due to AI aircraft.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought when FPS is internally set to unlimited that the FFTF is set to 0.01? Which (to my understanding) is allocating almost NO time to texture loading maximum time to rendering maximum FPS? So if you're runnining unlimited FPS (and FFTF is automatically set to 0.01) then how would FFTF help improve FPS?

From what I understand in circumstances such as this it might improve 'blurries' at higher altitudes when away from such complex airports, but thats not something I really encounter, I guess because I'm limiting to 30 GPS via VYSNC.

Am I off the mark here?

Running at unlimited with FFTF Dynamic isn't getting the best out of it.

I've tried unlimited with FFTF and I see a positive difference in autogen loading but I still suffer blurry ground textures.

I use FFTF in AGL mode, with locked 30 FPS in sim and a 30 FPS lock externally (I have a 60Hz monitor) and get good results.

Frames pretty much stay at 30 with the FSL A320. Airports like Heathrow will take me down into the 20's but I have to say it is still pretty smooth in the 20's. I don't have AI traffic at present, so I will have to make compromises when I do.

No blurries and good autogen loading.

All of this of course is dependant on your scenery density and draw distance settings.

I have my autogen set to dense, trees to very dense, scenery detail to max and draw distance to high.

I have played around quite a bit to get a satifactory experience but I think I'm pretty much there now.

Hope it helps

Stu

Hi,

The best results for my config are coming with the below settings

AGL 0..10.000 Ft  0.01... 0.33 FFTF (Locked frames 120)

But I get very high frames rate at low density areas. So, I am planning to implement profiles for areas defined by the user.

The best result can come in cooperation of FFTF auto change and auto frames rider. Unfurtunatelly, I still did not found any way to manage the frames. I can change them but something blocks me inside p3d code to apply them. Still trying to figure it out.
