Airline callsign

Featured Replies

I'm flying a British Airways 787 (QW) and although I've got 'SPEEDBIRD' set as the Airline Call Sign, ATC just uses the flight number without the call sign.

I know P3D can say Speedbird as it does for AI traffic.

Any ideas? Thanks

Seems like everything I have seen points to adding Editvoicepack for P3D to your Sim.  Do you see Speedbird in your airlines.cfg?

I think you need to use SPEED BIRD as the ATC callsign.

Actually, the current version of Editvoicepack has both.

You definitely need EditVoicePak! The only way to modify the voice files to include custom names.

SPEEDBIRD is a default callsign, so it should work if it is defined correctly in the aircraft.cfg file.

You need to remove the atc flight number from the Quality Wings 787 aircraft.cfg file. That should solve the problem.

Sorry Chris, can you describe in a little more detail what you mean? Thanks

I did not read your post properly, Ben! I was editing my comment when you replied  Can you possibly post a screenshot of the [fltsim] part of the aircraft.cfg file?

Sorry, amateur question...but where is the aircraft.cfg file?

Maybe something like this:  SimObjects\Airplanes\Mooney_Bravo\aircraft.cfg

Just substitute the proper aircraft in place of the Mooney_Bravo.

Sample of what you need to edit...

No, that is not correct. It is the "atc_airline =" statement that needs to be SPEEDBIRD

Do you show SPEEDBIRD in your airlines, cfg?  This is not part of the aircraft folder but in your Main P3D folder.  If it's not there, you can try editing the airlines.cfg and add it and test.  I still think you may need EditVoicepack.

Just downloaded EditVoicepack. Run it, click on install and it just disappears (crashes to desktop). You couldn't make it up...!

I’ve had problems in the past with this. Doesn’t it need to be SPEED BIRD?
