Madeira X Evo in P3Dv5?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

don't throw with stones...I know that the scenery is not yet compatible with v5 but did any of you guys manage to get it "work" with v5?

PS: I will go for anew PC build next month and therefore not afraid braking the sim 🤪

I added it just fine.  I don't notice any problems.

Same here. Works just fine.

@micstatic @flycln how did you do it guys?

I tried to install it by selecting P3Dv5, it did install into it but the scenery did not show at all. More, the entire water surrounding the island was gone (land tiles). I checked the default .BGL and .CVX to see if they were excluded after the install and they were with .OFF at the end.

I have not installed any other Mesh or LC AddOn's....and I had a fresh P3Dv5HF2 install.

Did you add it manually to the scenery.cfg? I've noticed MK-studios installers (Aerosoft older ones) do not add it automatically

Hello guys,

thanks to your posts I was happy to buy Madeira X Evolution although I'm using P3D v5.2H1 (latest version actually).

Unfortunately I was not successful. After installation the airport vanished. You can select LPMA as an airport but only "Active Runway" and "Tower Control" are selectable. But you always end up on an island without any airport.

Deinstalling the AddOn recovers the airport and everything looks "standard" like before.

I found the Aerosoft folder containing the LPMA and LPPS scenery in the following directory: "Programm Files / Lockheed Martin / P3D v5 / Ecosystem / Aerosoft / ... "

I'm not familiar with activating something in the "scenery.cfg"...

So my question:

Do you have the AddOn still running with the latest P3D v5.2H1 Version?

If yes: Could you get me some basic steps how to manage a successful installation and integration?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers, Stefan

Hello Stefan,

I came to LPMA using P3D V5.2HF1 recently. No problems visible.

My advice for you: Try to install the patch from iniBuilds : Prepar3D v5 Scenery Compatibility Files – iniBuilds

Worked perfect for me.

Happy landings

Hi Michael,

thanks for your reply!

Could you please tell me, how you installed the LPMA AddOn and how your folders look like after the installation.

I mean: what's the directory and how are the folders called.

I still have the problem that after installation of LPMA, P3D recognizes a change on first power up. But thereafter the airport is gone.

Installing the patch just means moving the ".bgl" file into the LPMA folder, correct?

Thanks for your help! I'd love to follow you to Madeira!

Cheers, Stefan

Hi Michael,

I tried it again. No luck.

Here is the overview of the installer program just before installing:

Lockheed Martin PREPAR3D V4.x
    C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Ecosystem
Madeira X Evolution
    C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Ecosystem\aerosoft\MadeiraXEvolution
    C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Ecosystem\aerosoft\PortoSantoXEvolution

Optional:
    WITHOUT FTX Global VECTOR (ORBX)
    WITHOUT FS Global Ultimate
WITHOUT FS Global Ultimate Next Generation
    WITHOUT FS Global 2010
    WITHOUT FreeMeshX

Config files
    Autogen file:
        C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\autogen\default.xml
    ApplicationData User (config files):
        C:\Users\stefa\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\PREPAR3D v4
        Config: Prepar3D.cfg
    ApplicationData All Users (Scenery.cfg):
        C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\PREPAR3D v4
    Operatingssystem:
        6.3
Using Windows 8 or higher shortcuts/APPS

There is two times the "4" among the installation path of the config files. I gues that's wrong. But I have no idea how to adapt this?

Thanks for the help!

Happy Landings!

Hello Stefan,

there is one recommendation a lot of times quoted: Never ever install simulator software in the standard folder \Program Files!

Give it a separate folder or even better a seperate drive. A lot of simulator add-ons need access to the sim folder. For security reasons it may be denied by Windows.

Appdata and ProgramData are fine. You hardly have a choice.

Perhaps you may give it another try.

Michael
