How to assign keyboard shortcuts for engine cut off switches

Recommended Posts

I would like to use keyboard shortcuts to control things in my plane such as landing lights, taxi lights, nav lights, beacon lights, runway lights, engine cut off switches, etc. How can I do this on FSLabs A320, PMDG planes and such? Is it possible to have the same set of shortcut keys for all my planes so that it's easier to memorize? I know some things are already mapped, but for other stuff I can't seem to figure it out.

PMDG‘s SDK can be done with registered FSUIPC

FSL has no official SDK but also a set of custome control by FSUIPC(different parameters under rotor-brake as I remembered)

Could you expand a little more on this or point me to the discussion link.

Thanks!

You can assign key shortcuts to the PMDG. In the FMC are options for stuff like that, same as for TO/GA etc. 🙂

I went a step further and assigned multiple commands to a switch on my GoFlight T8 module. The most helpful is switching off GND PWR. Ordinarily you have to go into the FMC and press multiple options to turn it on / off.

PMDG provided an SDK and a very helpful chap (Paul Henty) provided a tutorial on how to assign those commands via FSUIPC. It took a fair bit of work but the results are worth it. So much better flicking a physical switch to turn on batteries for example than clicking a mouse.
