P3D V5, no traffic in GTN.

Featured Replies

I have Ultimate Traffic installed and I get good traffic in the sky but the GTN 750’s Traffic button is grayed out.  Any advice?

 Thanks

Hi,

What about searching the RXP GTN User's Manual with the keyword "traffic" and see whether there is something you could configure for it?

That would probably be helpful, so can you point me in the direction where this manual is?  I have the latest version I just downloaded and in the zip file is only an exe file, no manual.

Left-click the Windows icon at the left edge of your Windows taskbar.  Bottom left of your screen.  Then click "Recently Added".  That will present you with a matrix of the alphabet.  Then click R and scroll down if needed to RealityXP and click the .▼.  Then click on User's Manual.  If you have both the RXP GTN and RXP GNS gauges then you may need to determine which of the two User's Manuals to open for the GTN User's Manual.

Thanks guys.  Appreciate it. It works fine now.

Our PDF manuals are also on our website main pages.

Really.... the manuals are not easy to find on my PC, but I am baffled by the notion that I should be able to find them on the RXP web site..  Where?

Just a suggestion... why not put in a shortcut to the manuals in the Reality XP folder?

Edit.. I just did just that... dragged the shortcut from the Start menu to the Reality XP folder for both the GNS and GTN User Manuals.. now I can find them without a search when I need them 🙂

@Bert Pieke Hi Bert,

First: the installer is offering the option to create a desktop shortcut to the User's Manual(s).

Second: the products are installing in a known location, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP". Just open a File Explorer window and browse there manually, you'll find the User's Manuals PDF files.

Third: for those not accustomed to browse their hard drives with a File Explorer window, hopefully, modern computers come with a large selection of 'search' methods (see methods 5 and 6 below)

Fourth: for those not accustomed to browse web sites or use search engines online, here are different methods which might help you:

Method 1:

  1. Open www.reality-xp.com
  2. You're presented the GTN main page, you can also switch to the GNS main page from the top cycling header.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  4. Click on the "Download the X-Plane User's Manual" and/or "Download the Prepar3d / FltSim User's Manual"

Method 2:

  1. Open www.reality-xp.com
  2. On the top menu, click "Discover" then "Simulation Products"
  3. On the right side box, click "Product Brochure >> download now"

Method 3:

  1. Open www.reality-xp.com
  2. On the top menu, click "Discover" then "Simulation Products" (or any other link to the legacy RXP website)
  3. Click on "Support" at the top menu bar
  4. On the right side box, click "User Guides"

Method 4:

  1. Open www.google.com
  2. search with the following words (without the quotes): "Reality XP GTN Manual"

Method 5:

  1. Click on Windows Start
  2. Type "Reality XP"
  3. Click on "User's Manual" (can't be tricky on Windows 10 because it displays only part of the file name - see below)

Method 6:

  1. Click on Windows Start
  2. Type "Reality XP"
  3. Click on the " > " symbol to the right of the "User's Manual" line.
  4. Review the file location to make sure it is GTN/GNS and X-Plane/FltSim
  5. Click on "Open"

Method 7:

  1. Click on Windows Start
  2. Scroll the displayed list of programs until you see the Reality XP folder
  3. Click on the Reality XP folder to open it
  4. Click on the User's Manual

PS: methods 4, 5 and 6 are best described in their respective User's Manuals too... (Windows user's Manual, Google User's Manual).

Method 7 has been the way to find installed program files since Windows 95...

Well, you are correct (no surprise).. the links are there on the web site, indeed.

But I never saw them before.. and could not find them when I was looking.. I must be getting old..  Next time I'll try Google instead..

🙂

This is how I found them on my PC:

Just to illustrate how an unwary user can get lost...

I went to Support...

There are two headings:

Purchasing a Reality XP product?

Solving an issue using a Reality XP product?

The product manual download is not under "Solving an issue", where I went to look... Silly me.. 😉
