If your P3D V5 Config Manager can't locate your panel.cfg

Recommended Posts

Dear FS2Crew Bus Drivers:

Several of you reported that the FS2Crew P3D V5 config manager was unable to locate your FSLab's panel.cfg.

We need to figure out why this happened to some of you.

You can add the FS2Crew panel.cfg entries manually as described in the other thread, but we'd rather figure out why it's not working for you.

Let's all keep this in one thread please.

Let me know:

1. Did you manually move FS2Crew to P3D V5 without waiting for the official FS2Crew update?

2. Please paste the contents of your ADD-ONS.CFG here.

Location:

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5

You should see something like this in that file:

[Package.1]
PATH=C:\Users\****your user name****\Documents\Prepar3d v5 Add-ons\FSLabs
TITLE=FSLabs Aircraft Family
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

Let me know if you don't have that.

FS2Crew uses that file to locate your panel.cfg file.  As you can see in mine, it's pointing my Documents folder.

3. When you installed the FS Labs Airbus host aircraft, did you select a custom non-default install location?

Thank you!

This type of thing drives me crazy.  How can you release an installer that was, "tested," and suddenly have these types of problems.  Why do I need to go into the config file?  Does the left hand talk to the right?  Ridiculous.

I, for one, installed the FSLabs bus where the FSLabs installer pointed.  I am not savvy enough to mess with that type of thing.  So, I have no idea why I'm getting the, "I have no clue where your airbus folder is located," warning.

Please send me a support ticket.

We're not totally sure yet why it's failing for some users.

Best,

1) Sure, where do we file the support ticket bc I don't see a place when running the configuration tool.

2) I am happy to try to manually install the needed lines of code in the config files but for me to be able to accomplish this, I would need very succinct instructions on what to add and where.  You can't just say, "the config file," or you'll immediately lose me.  I'd need the folder tree to get there.  There are files in the documents folder, program folder etc...

ugh

I see the problem... there's an bug in the installer for P3D V4.

Multiple versions = nightmare for maintenance 🙂

So this is an error on my machine or in your installer?  Bc I don't have v4 anywhere on my cpu.  This is a new build with v5 only.

1) No.

2) [Package.1]
PATH=D:\Prepar3D v5 Addons\FSLabs
TITLE=FSLabs Aircraft Family
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

Actual location of FSLabs addon is D:\Prepar3D v5 Addons\FSLabs so it matches.

Please download this:

https://we.tl/t-HN2oLWyFkB

Replace the original located here if you're using P3D V5:

C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\FS2Crew2010\Versions\AirbusLabs

Run the exe.

A log will be generated beside the Conifgurator showing what the Configurator thinks your paths are to the panel.cfg file.

Post the contents of the contents of the log.

I think I see the problem now!

Added this note - I have both P3D v4 and v5 installed but only updated FSL A320 in P3D v5.  Only installed this version of FS2Crew in v5 in the configuration program.

Are you using a mounted network drive or something?

How did you get P3D V4 in your file path?
