You can often see cars moving on a road in real life videos of landing approaches.  They are really a major part of the environment in those cases.

But it's really just eye candy and you won't be using them to find your way. 🙂

If you show me one professional full motion flight simulator for commercial pilot training that shows moving trains and car traffic, then you changed my mind, that trains and cars are a NEED for a flight simulator. 🙄

I bet this will not happen. 🤪

But i love suprises!  😃

As I expected, ridiculous arguments comparing a entertaining game/sim with a profesional flight simulator.

This is the least of their worries right now. They've said trains will come and may even have real world schedules. But that's not happening at release.

So, still waiting for your arguments, why does a entertaining game/sim NEED trains and cars? (if even a professional one does not need them)

Edit: for more as eye-candy purposes (which i define as the opposite of NEED)

Maybe because XPlane has them.

Why need good visuals then? Why having animals? Why having ground handling or airport vehicles? Why photogrammetry?

Immersion is as important in an entertaining sim as everything else. And I’m sure Asobo thinks the same about it.

I don’t see any issue in having trains. Just like there are other kind of vehicles.

But... but... we already HAVE trains!! I've already seen several!

Maybe on hand made airports. I didn’t saw anyone yet out of there.

But I think vehicles/boats/etc are not working properly until release on purpose.

It would be nice to see trains in MSFS, but I would rather they use the new technology to make a new train simulator.

Imagine what they could do with that, with a whole world of train networks. They wouldn't have any problems with performance: the engine would only need to render very little on screen at any one time, compared to MSFS.

I think he's joking about about photogrammetry trains.

Not even close to airports.  The 3D one I saw appeared to be part of the photogrametry of the nearby city, but I may be mistaken on this.

None of them were moving.  They were parked.

Why need good visuals then? Good visuals is a little bit too general. Its always a trade off of resources between "good visuals vs performance". Its more important to have clear and good visible landmarks when flying VFR, instead of a train there and a car there.

Why having animals? Besides birds absolute waste of computer ressources.

Why having ground handling or airport vehicles? Belongs to aircraft operations.

Why photogrammetry? See your first point. Putting textures somewhere is far less resource intensive than driving cars and trains.

Immersion is as important in an entertaining sim as everything else. And I’m sure Asobo thinks the same about it.  I absolutely agree with you, immersion is important for an entertaining sim. But weather and a good ATC is far more important for immersion than trains or cars. Thats where the ressources should go.

I don’t see any issue in having trains. Just like there are other kind of vehicles. I dont see issues in having them, too. But they are no NEED compared to many many other things in the sim.
